Uniquely Creative: Getting ready for Christmas!

Hello!!! Whose ready for Christmas?
ME!! I am! :)
and by ready I mean I've made a whole bunch of Christmas cards using Uniquely Creative: Christmas Tree die
Here are the cards:

To create these cards I first die-cut the tree from Christmas pattern paper (left over from last year!). Using vellum I die-cut the tree again, I adhered these (loosely) together and put them aside. Next I die-cut My Little Paper World rectangle nesting dies and then put these through an embossing folder (I used a variety of Christmas themed ones - mostly Couture Creations). I then stamped a few sentiments (Hero Arts CM100) on coloured card, trimmed them down and assembled my card. To add more interest I machine sewed a line down the middle of the tree (overlapping the sentiment banners) before matting my card front to my card base. I also added a few pearls and a star to the tree for decoration.

Ink Road Stamps: Friday Feature...

Today I'm sharing a few cards I created, which are now also up on Ink Road Stamps blog. Each Friday members in this design team will showcase a featured stamp set. The stamp set on show today is: Ink Road Stamp: Compliments Vol.1

Here are my cards using the stamp set above:

To create these cards I used a resist watercolour technique. I stamped my sentiment and heat embossed it in white. I then applied distress ink to my craft mat, sprayed with water and applied it to areas of my watercolour card. The stamped sentiment resisted the watercolour and created this fun background. I then decided to add interest by sewing (quite randomly) and finished the cards off by heat embossing the sentiment on black card and embellishing with sequins and a few geometric/heart shapes.

Mess aside - this technique was a lot of fun and perfect to showcase this sentiment set.

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to check out the Ink Road Stamps blog to see what other members of this design team created u…

Craftie Cafe: It's Baby Season...

Babies Babies Babies!
Recently, I’ve had a few friends either announce their pregnancy, or they are just about to pop! So luckily for me Craftie Café’s baby themed month of cards has come in very handy!
Here is a super easy card to make using MFT – Beautiful Baby. Below is a video tutorial of those process – but I basically made this card by taking all on the images from this stamp set and created my own background/paper. I used four ink colours that would work well together and just started stamping. I filled in the white spaces with some of the smaller stamps using grey ink then used the sentiment to create the focal point of my card.
Here is the card:

It was quite easy to replicate this card using different colours. So I made two more - a blue one for a baby boy and a purple which could be used for either girl or boy.

Ink Road Stamps: October Colour Challenge

Starting October off with an awesome colour challenge from Ink Road Stamps! inspire those who wish to play. I created two cards, both using Ink Road Stamps: Just a Number stamp set. I basically picked a few Altenew inks that matched the challenge colour palette and stamped rows of the balloon. I did some sewing to add interest to the card, and finished it off by heat embossing the sentiment.

The second card uses the same idea but this time instead of straight lines I used a circle as a guide to stamp the balloons around.
Here is the card:

Here is the colour palette: Oh...the BEST part!!!  Join in the challenge and one random winner will receive$30 gift cardto spend on anything you want in the Ink Road store! Flora & Fauna: Light it up!

About a month ago now I received a few things I had was my Chibitronics order and the other was from Flora & Fauna. I've been wanting to try these stamps for awhile and their Christmas release had a few things that I couldn't say no to.
If you've previously read - I LOVE LOVE LOVE succulent/cactus's, pineapples and flamingos stamp (or dies)! But...lately I've started adding a few car stamps to my collection - I think because I have two boys who are hot wheels fanatics it was only a matter of time before their love of cars wore off on me! The other stamp release I love from Flora & Fauna is their Fa La La Llama - which I'll play with hopefully very soon! Because there is a story behind why I collect Llama stamps too!
So for today's blog I'm sharing a card using the Flora & Fauna WV Car die which I partnered up with Chibitronics. I ended up making a few of them (the same design) without the lights as well - it's nice to have a …

Less is More: Challenge #347 - Sketch 21

It's been awhile since I've linked up to a sketch or colour challenge...but this sketch from Less is More inspired me.
Here is the sketch:

and here is the card:

Glitter is so difficult to photograph - it almost has a holographic look to it that I wish showed up more in the photos...

I did tweaked it a little by making the sentiment round - the original quote I wanted to use covered too much of the circles. Otherwise I pretty much followed the sketch.
I used Ink Road Stamps - Full Circle (love this set!) and because I've been using gold embossing powder way too much I decided to go with something a little less subtle...if glitter counts at subtle? The overlay circle stamps are embossed with WOW - Cloud9 embossing powder and to finish the card off I added a few My Little Paper World sequins.

Thanks for the sketch inspiration Less is More! :)

Craftie Cafe: Vroom Vroom PARTY!

Today’s blog is all about PARTIES!
A couple of weeks ago my little man turned 5!  Tears put aside….(where on Earth did those 5 years go!)... I had a party to get ready for! Now…I always create my own invitations – I use word to create my own layout (though there are a few really nice invite stamps available) and I always add a stamping element to them. This time I used Taylored Expressions: Vroom Vroom – because both my boys love anything car/motor/vehicle related and BONUS it has a little ‘5’ on the car! Double BONUS: The second car happens to have a ‘3’ on it and guess who has a third birthday in October!
I first decided to stamp the car in red (red cars go fast!) – I was pretty excited, I had to show them to my boys and the first thing he said to me was “you can’t have red wheels they need to be black…” Back to the drawing board – masking paper!
So I created a quick little masking tutorial – which I hope will inspire you to get creative with stamp sets similar to this. I know a fe…
