Craftie Café: A WPlus9 Wedding Card + Video

Image
I’m back sharing a few cards I made for Craftie Café . Though it may not be wedding season here in Australia, it is in many other parts of the world – hence a whole bunch of really beautiful flower stamps and dies currently available. So I’ve made a few wedding themed (congratulatory/best wishes) cards to add to my stash for those special moments where I really don’t need to be rushing to create a card. The first card I made is very simple whilst the other two cards require a little more time. But this card series is a great way for me to share how I generally start creating. The first card is a single layer card and probably my go-to design for cards in terms of layout. I pretty much stamp a small area to see what it will look like – colour choices, medium choices, card focal point are decided here. If I have more time (which is an amazing event with three kids under 5) then I like to challenge myself by adding more to the layout of the card. In the video I share how this was don

Yay! For the Weekend...

Who's glad its the weekend - ME! It's been crazy busy - add three sick kiddies and I haven't stopped or slept. So this will be a super quick post to share a card that I've been trying to write up since Monday... I recently shared a card I made using some watercolour cards from a Simon Says Stamp kit. (Blog post here ). This card was made soon after that - this time testing out some new Jane Davenport pens I got from Paper Flourish ! I'm in love with this new watercolour medium. It was really easy to work with and the colours are so vibrant! Anyways here is the card and hope you all have a wonderful weekend! (Fingers crossed I'll get some much wanted craft time - I've posted a few goodies on Instagram I received during the week and really want to make a few cards). Happy Crafting! Entered into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Challenges - view here  and here . Samantha

Watercolour Cactus Card

Today I wanted to share a watercolour card I made during the week. The card came with the Simon Says Stamp May 2017 card kit and I finally decided to colour it in! I used my Zig brush pens and it was super easy to colour - the card is quite a thick card and good quality. I also really like that its a white white base rather then the slightly yellow watercolour card I've seen around. The card kit came with two of these pre-printed, colour in, watercolour based cards so I look forward to sharing another card soon - I got the new Jane Davenport pens too, so a perfect way to try these out! For those who follow me on instagram - I was a little hesitant to die-cut the card (especially once it was coloured) but I am quite happy I did and love how it turned out. Happy Crafting and thanks for stopping by! Samantha

Magical Holidays

Today I am sharing some more Christmas inspired cards for Craftie Café ! However, when I got this set I already knew how versatile this Waffle Flower stamp set was that I was also able to create some birthday cards with it. Below you will find a supplies list (with links) as well as some written instructions on how these cards were made. I originally thought I would colour the horse/unicorn but once I stamped it I really just wanted to create a background with it and make the ‘magical’ die the central focus.
