Craftie Cafe: A Wedding Card 2.0

Today I am sharing two wedding themed cards I created using WPlus9 stamps for Craftie Café design team.
I’m really into flowers at the moment – I especially love colouring flowers which is what I did with my last wedding themed card (see blog post here). This time I decided to use WPlus9 Happy Wishes stamp which meant playing around with inks. I decided to use my Altenew inks – but you can use what you have in your stash – for me I really wanted three shades of pink and two shades of green as well as a few greys to complete the look I got in this card.

To replicate this card - I first traced a large heart (in pencil) to guide where my flowers and leaves needed to be stamped. Once I finished stamping around the pencil marks, I die-cut the heart. I added tulle and twine in between the heart and card base for added interest and finished the card off by heat embossing the sentiment on grey card and some My Little Paper World sequins.

The second card uses the same card making process except that I continued stamping the leaves and the flowers to create my own background. A little thought did go into the stamping process - I wanted to make sure that it looked messy/random but that the colours were still evenly distributed around the heart.

I need to search through my own wedding photos – I’m pretty sure this is a card that would go perfect with the colours that I chose back in 2010. Picking colours that match the wedding party is one way that you can personalise handmade wedding cards – It’s a lovely way to celebrate and show your love towards the happy couple!

OH Yes! I also added wink of stella - clear to the flowers.
