A Not So Traditional Christmas Card...

Image
Hello again! Who’s ready for Christmas! That’s right…! Today’s card I’m sharing some Christmas cheer and inspiration.  Craftie CafĂ©  has an abundant supply of Christmas themed stamps and dies. This month I’ve decided to play with some  Waffle Flower stamps  – though that shouldn’t be a surprise as they’re one of my favourite brands.  Christmas however, is NOT one of my favourite type of card to make! In fact I generally leave it to the last minute…I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one! So for those who want to get organised (Christmas in July!) – Here is a card that you can easily create. I like to stick to CAS type Christmas cards – cards that can be easily made over and over again. Which this card pretty much is. I first created a mask , played around with Waffle Flower Pattern Play and then once the mask was removed, stamped the bauble and adhered it to a card base. I also decided to play around with colours – who said Christmas has to be green, white and

Watercolour Take Two!

Quick Share of cards - in a previous post I gave up on watercolour but I wanted to revisit it and play a little more once I was in a more patient mood! Here are the cards I made - and I must say that even though I still have a lot to learn (for example I'd have preferred the sentiment to be darker so instead of stamping it with the plants I should have done it afterwards) I am still rather happy with the results. I definitely want to practice using watercolour more and I felt that once I got into it I was able to get into a little rhythm - moving around to different areas which allowed the area just finished time to dry. Which then moved the whole process along - because lets face it I like to make cards quickly! Happy Crafting and I hope to share some more watercolour cards with you soon! Samantha

Happy Mother's Day 2.0 (Craftie Cafe DT)

I'm back again with another Mother's Day theme inspired card for Craftie Cafe ! This time I'm using a stamp and die set called Fancy Flowers from My Favorite Things. This blog is an extra special post as today I am also sharing my very FIRST video tutorial. You can view my second video I recently shared here -  Be kind! There were a few hiccups (and a whole bunch of editing!) but overall I'm extremely happy and excited to share it with you. In the tutorial I will share how I created the flowers for this mother's day card. You will also find below a few more card examples of non-mother's day cards to showcase how versatile this stamp set is.   ZIG Brush Pens - 047/041/044/030/082/081 I've listed the supplies below with links and a few instructions on how to create the card base. Craftie Cafe have both the stamp and die set in stock and it's such a great stamp set to have in your stash. Supplies Used: Craftie CafĂ©

Watercolour Practice with Unity (#fail)

There are a few stamps designs that I really can't pass up - Plants and Cactus's seem to be one of them! (Even though I very rarely know what I want to do with these stamps - aside from collect them!) I've had this one for awhile now and decided that I really wanted to have another go at watercolouring - so I took out my TomBows had a play with colours, decided I didn't like the colours and then took out my ZIG Brush Pens (which I generally do love to use WITHOUT water!) and decided I didn't really like to use them WITH water... It was one of those unproductive craft nights where all I really did was make a mess and figure out I have a lot of water-colouring mediums and absolutely no talent or patience what-so-ever for watercolour!  Don't fret! I will (I promise!) play with watercolour again - its one of my own personal craft goals to achieve (hopefully this year). But I also want to enjoy my hobby and last night just wasn't the night...
