Elizabeth Craft Designs: Winter Animals

Image
Hello! I feel I haven't posted on my blog for awhile in the lead up to Christmas! Not that I haven't been creating cards - I actually feel I've made too many cards (for Christmas) and my blog has just not been kept updated. However, I do hope you'll follow me on Instagram - My Little Paper World , I post all my cards here and it's a great way to follow my creative journey for the new year! Today I'm sharing a set of cards I created using Elizabeth Craft Designs: Winter Animals stamp set. I really wanted to create a repetitive background using the small pattern stamp and I thought that sticking to a monochrome colour scheme would make it easier. What are your thoughts on a blue owl? Purple Bear? Pink Squirrel? or Orange Fox?  I used my Copic Markers to colour each animal in - again because I went with monochrome colours the colouring was very simple. I picked three to four shades of blue and individually coloured each section of the owl. The sentiments...

Elizabeth Craft Designs: November Designer Challenge

Image
This months  Elizabeth Craft Designs  designer challenge theme is a  Floral Christmas - this could be simply a Christmas tree or the pretty Poinsettia or other Christmas foliage that is used for Christmas decorations. For my card today I am using the new released  Poinsettia   Clear Stamp set with coordinating dies and the  Classic Christmas Sentiments  Clear Stamp set. Coloured in with Copic Markers:  Leaves: G14/G16/G17/G19 Flower: R22/R24/R27/R29 I kept this card quite simple. Firstly by stamping a light grey leafy background before colouring in and adding the Poinsettia flower. I embellished the card with sequins and added a twine bow. I also highlighted the center of the flower with a gold pen.   For more Christmas Floral inspiration check out what the design team has created - here . For our Challenge today Elizabeth Craft Designs is giving away a  $20 Gift Card to  3 lucky winners.  To ent...

Craftin Desert Divas: Florals & Fairy tales (Creative Challenge)

Image
During the week Craftin Desert Divas had a Florals and Fairy Tales Creative Challenge. My favourite fairy tales growing up were The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan. I also loved The Last Unicorn movie (which I wouldn't class as a fairy tale) but unicorns are definitely classed as magical and up there with the dragons, princesses and fairies. The Magical Wishes stamp set has all three characters - so it was perfect for this weeks theme. I've created a few mermaid/ocean themed cards over the last few months and I really wanted to create a background that reflected the waves without re-using dies I've previously used to create the sea or waves. This die is from Craftin Desert Divas Fancy Frames and using a few different shades of blue pattern paper and card stock I created a repetitive die cut back ground. I LOVE small dies - especially ones that can create a pattern.  I added machine stitched details and embellished the card with sequins and a twine bow. The stam...

StickerKitten: Mermaid Treasures (Paper Tearing Part.2)

Image
Late last month I shared a blog post about paper tearing using StickerKittens Mermaid Treasure Collection Box . I made so many cards I decided to share these cards over two blog posts. If you missed the first blog you can view it - here . The first blog post included card instructions and a few tips on paper tearing. Its probably one technique I haven't used in the longest time but it works so well with this collection box . Supplies List:  Mermaid Treasures Collection Box  Mermaid Treasures Sparkly Sequins Mermaid Treasures Die-Cut Ephemera Mermaid Treasures Basics Paper Pack Mermaid Treasures Photopolymer Stamps (Birthday Fishes) Other:  Cardstock  Black Ink  Sewing Machine  Tape Runner/Gluedots/Multi Medium Matte  Paper Trimmer/Scissors Here are a few more paper tearing ideas and layouts that I came up with. I basically teared the majority of the paper packs to come up with different ways to pl...

Elizabeth Craft Designs: Santa and Friends!

Image
Good Morning! I'm starting to feel like the weeks are flying by and the months zooming past! Anyone else feel this way? I've been preparing for a market coming up in November - this will be my first market experience selling my cards. With that in mind I thought it would be good to add some fun, very cute Christmas cards to sell at this market. Here are three cards I've created with Elizabeth Craft Designs latest character dies. I started by die cutting the stitched rectangle card base and stamping the sentiments on the inner die cut rectangle. After I added a machine stitched border, I then adhered both these pieces on to a white card base. The middle rectangle fit back like a puzzle piece. The rest of the card was quite simple. I die cut the penguin using black, white, orange, and blue card stock. I assembled him on my card front and embellished the card with some die cut snowflakes, sequins and a twine bow.  Supplies Used: Santa Claus Penguin Polar...

StickerKitten: Mermaid Treasures (Paper Tearing Part. 1)

Image
Hello! Early this month I got my amazing Mermaid Treasures Collection Box from StickerKitten. As you can tell by the name it's ocean/mermaid themed and full of pretty embellishments and paper. It also has two stamp set which have the most adorable images. I've decided to split my blog post into two parts. One of the things I love most about StickerKitten's Collection Boxes is how easy it is to create card sets. I ended up creating seven cards (over 3-4 days) using one simple background technique and the Mermaid Treasure ephemera . I've included a step by step instruction for the first card and a few tips on what I would call a classic technique that anyone of any age could do: Paper Tearing. Here is the first card: Card Instructions: Step 1: Take three strips of pattern paper (measuring: 5cm x 10cm) and rip the bottoms off each one. Step 2: Adhere these three strips to the top of your cardfront as shown (Trim edges if necessary). (Cardfront m...

Ink Road Stamps: Start of Something New

Image
Welcome! Today I am NOT sharing a card! For the last few years card making has been all I've done. Many, many years ago I use to scrapbook and create off the page art - but with young kids I quickly decided it wasn't for me anymore and let my creativity fall into one area of card making!  I've been following a few crafty ladies whose traveling notebooks kick started my want to give it a try. Follow my original blog post - it has a few more details on how I created my first notebook page. Go to the Ink Road Stamps blog - here . Otherwise check out the photos below! I went a little overboard with the detailed photos - it was a little challenging taking photos of something other then a card. There are so many details - the stitching, glitter, stamping, embellishments. I wanted to capture it all. Supplies Used: Ink Road Stamps - Chin Up Buttercup Traveller's Journal Altenew Ink Silhouette Cameo Printer Sewing Machine Sequins Twine C...
