My Little Paper World

It's already August!!! I have been such a busy crafter, and can't wait to show you what I've been up to...for now though here is my first step by step tutorial for a ATC I created. Put your hands up if you have a billion pins on Pinterest of art, paper craft, and mixed media techniques!!! Well...I've got two hands up in the air... and I am sure like most of you there just isn't enough time or enough money to go and try them all out! So I am really happy to share this ATC with you because I got to try a new technique that has been pinned to my Pinterest board for awhile and I am so happy I got to try it out. I did change the thickness of the strips of paper and pretty much just followed the photos - its a fun technique which I found super easy. BROWN! So my last ATC theme for this month was masculine. This was a HUGE challenge for me, as it took almost 2 weeks for me to even come up with an idea, and even then it wasn't much of an idea, but rather a colour : brown!  Brown... Brown... I don't even like how it sounds! So...I decided to wait...hoping  that something else for this theme would pop into my head, but nothing... Now you're probably thinking: "what's wrong with brown?". There isn't anything wrong with the colour. It's just a colour I normally wouldn't even think of using! Give me pinks, purples, reds even blues but not brown!!! So I decided to go with it and make 'brown' my 'b' word (even though its not really a technique) for my little side project. I created something completely out of my comfort zone and I am still not sure how I feel about it... Here are the finished ATC: I had to buy some brown card stock...

So to continue on with my little side project , I decided that I would have a play with alcohol inks on acetate. I used   purple twilight and raspberry, sunshine yellow and pool, and sunset orange and watermelon to created these ATC for the  Scrap it with Attitude  swap. Theme: Things with wings. I used a stamp I bought a while ago from  Market Street Stamps , called 'Believing Butterfly'. Using Memento ink (Black) I stamped it on to white card stock, distressed the edges and added some glitter to the butterfly wings. I then used a dabbing technique with my blending tool to create the front part of my ATC. I just love playing with alcohol inks, each one is slightly different, but they each look fabulous. So much fun...and a little messy!
