Craftie Cafe: A Wedding Card 2.0

Image
Today  I am sharing two wedding themed cards I created using WPlus9 stamps  for Craftie  Café design team.    I’m really into flowers at the moment – I especially love colouring flowers which is what I did with my last wedding themed card (see blog post here ). This time I decided to use WPlus9 Happy Wishes stamp which meant playing around with inks. I decided to use my Altenew inks – but you can use what you have in your stash – for me I really wanted three shades of pink and two shades of green as well as a few greys to complete the look I got in this card.   To replicate this card - I first traced a large heart (in pencil) to guide where my flowers and leaves needed to be stamped. Once I finished stamping around the pencil marks, I die-cut the heart. I added tulle and twine in between the heart and card base for added interest and finished the card off by heat embossing the sentiment on grey card and some My Little Paper World sequins.  ...

Happy Easter & Simon Says Stamp Card Kit October 2016

Image
Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter long weekend - I've spent most of it preparing for something special which I hope to share with you soon! I've also been able to give my craft room a really good tidy and a little re-organisation. A few items - mainly inks and dies (which I clearly have too many of!) as well as card kits. I am also catching up on a few blog posts. Yay! I'm rather behind on my card kits from last year as I was pregnant for half of it and the second half was adjusting to having a newborn again. I cant believe how many I have...but I am slowly getting through them! These cards use the October 2016 card kit. Its Autumn themed, not the colours I'd normally play with, but I was thrilled at how they turned out and absolutely loved the challenge. I've made a few cards over the last two weeks and I am finally doing a little bit of blog catch up! This card was created using the stamp in the first image below ( Simon Says Stamp: Nutty Over You ). I'm pretty sure its a stamp that co-ordinates with the sentiments but instead I used it to create my own background. I love using the unexpected stamp to create something different.  I did the same for a card I made last month which got a lovely mention on the Lil' Inker's Blog for their You Made It Monday feature which you can view here . The Card is also shown below. I used the belly of the bird stamp ( Lil' Inker's: Hello Beautiful ) to create the background.  Simon Says Stamp: Nutty Over You  Lil' Inker's: Hello Beautiful Happy Crafting! Coral & Navy Challenge

Image
Today I'd like to share two quick cards I made. I've been wanting to try this technique for awhile now - I remember pinning it months ago, and for those who follow me on Pinterest, I pin a LOT! So...I'm actually glad I remembered wanting to try it and I apologies as I can't find the link to direct it back to! I also received my first order from Altenew. I got all their mini ink pads and a few stamp sets, and today was the day I got to test some of them out! ENTERED in to Altenew's current challenge: C oral & Navy - find out more here . It's a simple card, but I love the contrast between the vibrant colours against the white!   P.S I think it's going to take a few days before the Desert Night Ink washes off my fingers :) Inks: Coral Berry, Desert Night. Stamps: Striped Florals , Label Love Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting! Samantha
