Unity Challenge

Image
So I've been a little quiet this last week on my blog but I have been super busy (still settling in/unpacking boxes) and getting creative. Today I'm sharing a quick card I created for this months unity's challenge (my second entry for this month)... I wanted to create something bold with funky patterns and this paper was perfect. I used stamps: Have some Sass and another stamp from the SMAK kit February 2015.  I followed the sketch (see below) very loosely - wanted to change it up a little :) Enjoy!       This is my FWF entry for this week and entered into Simon Says Stamp: Lets get sentimental Challenge. Thanks for stopping by and for those crafty mums out there - I hope you have a wonderful Mothers Day on Sunday :)  Happy Crafting! Samantha

An all time record! Made this card in 15mins (with only one interruption!) Stamps used: Unity SMAK kit (April 2014) Entered into CASology monochrome challenge  and the  Addicted to CAS challenge: Mask . As I used 'masking' technique with the stamps. :) I've also entered this card in to Cardabilities Sketch challenge . Link here to view sketch.   Happy Crafting! Samantha

A CAS card with water colour

Last night at 11.30pm just before I was about to get ready for bed, I decided to watch this YouTube video. .. 30 minutes later this card was created... :) My take on this CAS (clean & simple) card. I chose hearts because I wanted to give it to my husband for our upcoming 5 year wedding anniversary. Entered into CAS-ual Fridays  challenge- Watercolour. Entered into VSC  challenge - Red, White or Pink. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!   Samantha

A bright and fun card...

Just a quick post to show you a card I made yesterday. It was the quickest card I've ever made!!! Done in less than 15 minutes. I used my alcohol inks to create large spots on glossy paper, then ran it through the printer to add the sentiment 'celebrate'. I added some dimension with punched out circles made from left over card stock, added some tiny splatters using Dylusions Sprays, matted it on blue card and Voilà! Here it is... and... here is another quick card I created a few weeks ago using a crafter's workshop stencil (my not so secret obsession) and some distress inks. I am entering this into the  Artastic  stencil & mask challenge. These are my favourite type of card to create, quick and simple, vibrant colours and lots of fun! Thanks for stopping by. Happy Crafting!   Samantha

Hello and welcome!

Image
Hello and welcome! For my first blog post ever I wish to share with you a piece I created during the week. This was a competition challenge from Scrappit  that had to include: mixed media textures, a metal embellishment, at least one stamped image and flowers. This is what I created: Of course I am hoping to win my first ever challenge, but to be honest I am just happy that I created something that isn't something I would normally create. I was also happy to use my Gelli Printing Plate for the second time since I got it and plan to use it again, and again and again.  Here is another picture to show more details: I used white card stock and a masking technique (with ripped paper) to create the border with a mixed media stamp from Prima. I then created the background using acrylic paints and my gelli plate. I also added a page from a random book that you can see under the green grass.  A lot of this was me playing around with masking and stamping...
