Jaded Blossom: Release Day 2

Image
Here we are Day 2 of Jaded Blossoms July release! I was super excited to play around with this stamp set - could't resist making a card with the latest Somebunny Needs Coffee stamp ! I first created my background using the background die. I thought that orange would be a great colour to work into this card. The strips were die cut out and adhered to my A6 card front. The bunny and carrot images were stamped and cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. I used Prisma pencils to colour in all the images and then stamped the sentiment on orange card. Next, I adhered all the images onto the card front. I embellished the card with the carrots, enamel dots and a twine bow. I adore this bunny - it's like he is sitting there full on coffee and carrots (in cake form I'd totally have both!). Check out Day 2 July release on the  Jaded Blossom  blog for more release stamps and inspiration!   Happy Crafting! Samantha

La La Land Crafts - Have You Heard? (Club La La Land)

Image
At the beginning of last year I said I wouldn't start another card kit or stamp subscription...but...towards the end of last year I came across a super cute club that I wanted to be apart of! La La Land Crafts has a fun monthly kit which comes with red rubber stamps and dies and today I'm sharing a few cards I created with my first kit (December).    Each card features the cute Panda Bear stamp/s and also includes the dies available in the subscription kit. I basically added card stock and a few embellishments to finish off each card. I decided I wanted to go really bright and colourful - a nice contrast to black and white bears.  My second card uses the negatives left over from the first card (I love it when I don't waste paper!). I of course added some stitching and coloured the bears in with Copic markers. Copic markers used provided below.  Supplies Used: La La  Land Crafts - December Club Kit  Card Stock Corrugated Card Copic Markers...

Ink Road Stamps: Fa Rawr Rawr RAWR!

Image
I'm on the Ink Road Stamps blog with this fun Christmas card! Feel free to check out how I created this card - here . For this card I’ve used  Block Party Alphas  +  Outline  stamp sets to customise the sentiment. The dinosaur is a silhouette cameo cut and of course I added my signature stitching and embellished the card with enamel dots and a twine bow. I also added Between the Line stamp set to add detail to the dinosaur! It came together really well... Happy Crafting!

Ink Road Stamps: Start of Something New

Image
Welcome! Today I am NOT sharing a card! For the last few years card making has been all I've done. Many, many years ago I use to scrapbook and create off the page art - but with young kids I quickly decided it wasn't for me anymore and let my creativity fall into one area of card making!  I've been following a few crafty ladies whose traveling notebooks kick started my want to give it a try. Follow my original blog post - it has a few more details on how I created my first notebook page. Go to the Ink Road Stamps blog - here . Otherwise check out the photos below! I went a little overboard with the detailed photos - it was a little challenging taking photos of something other then a card. There are so many details - the stitching, glitter, stamping, embellishments. I wanted to capture it all. Craftin Desert Divas: September Release

Image
Hello - Welcome! It's September release time over at Craftin Desert Divas . All week the design team has been sharing their cards and inspiration using the latest fun holiday/Halloween themed stamps, stencils, and dies. If you've missed it come join in the fun over at Craftin Desert Divas Facebook Group . Here is one of my cards using the stamp set Doxie Duos which I paired with the new release stencil . I used Distress Oxide Inks - Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Black Soot and a blending tool to outline the stencil.  After this dried I machine stitched the web details. I then adhered my stamped sentiment, and die cut grass. I then added more machine stitched details and embellished the web with Craftin Desert Divas Sequins.  After my card front was finished I moved on to colouring the witch Doxie and pumpkins. I coloured them in with my Copic markers and kept to similar colours used in my background. See below for colour combinations.   This was m...

Ink Road Stamps: You Are Lovely!

Image
Hello! Here is a card I created using two Ink Road Stamps.  I decided to make my own bright rainbow using the Between the Lines stamp and a simple (yet always satisfying) technique I've used on many occasion: masking. The other stamp set used in this card is Majestic AF - another absolute favourite of mine. Here is my card: For complete instructions and original blog post go to Ink Road Stamps Blog - here . Here is another example of the card above. This card involved a lot more masking but I really love these unicorns and creating this rainbow. This card is a great example of how  thinking outside the box allows you to create with stamp sets that otherwise wouldn’t necessarily be used that way. I really wanted to create a rainbow and I found the perfect stamp for it! Happy Crafting!

Craftin Desert Divas: September Mini Release

Image
Have you seen THIS!??? That's right! Craftin Desert Divas mini release for this month is MAGICAL! This stamp set is now available - it comes with a fun stencil and a Summoning Spells sequin pack (available in a release bundle!).  Check out the cards I created using Wizard Trolls : For this card I decided to create a machine stitched, striped paper background that (of course) represents Hogwarts Gryffindor colours. I simply stamped the sentiment and adhered my Copic coloured in characters on my card.   These characters were machine cut with my Silhouette Cameo and this SVG file is also available to purchase on the Craftin Desert Divas webstore for those who prefer not to fussy cut their stamped images. Ink Road Stamps: Bella Flora Meets Full Circle

Image
Hello!  My Copic marker colouring has improved so much this year - but before I used Copic markers I would try to find other alternatives - paper piecing  for example or a technique I've used for today's card. For these cards I used smaller stamps (circles from Ink Road Stamps: Full Circle stamp) to fill in the flower image! I actually love this technique because you don't need to be precise and it is an extremely quick stamping process using a few shades of ink and a simple stamp block. I decided to use Altenew inks - they take out all the hard work of picking ink colours that work well together. After I stamped Ink Road Stamps: Bella Flora I then had my silhouette cut out the images and happily stamped the smaller circles using different shades of ink colours while watching an episode of Smallville.  This stamp set is very pretty - it almost screams out bling me up with some gold! So I embellished the card with some gold sequins and added a gold ma...

The Cut Shoppe: Guest Designer

Image
Hello! Today I'm guest designing for The Cut Shoppe! I was a little nervous when Ashley invited me to guest design using her cut files. I LOVE my silhouette but aside from using it to cut out stamped images I hardly use it to it's full potential!  Here are my first cards using Summer Vibes . For this card I decided I wanted to pair the Summer Vibes cut out with Silk Microifine Glitter and sentiments from Elizabeth Craft Designs: Beach Sentiments.   I certainly loved the challenge of putting these two products together. The card stock I like to use is quite think, adding the double sided tape to specific areas of the pineapple meant I had to take this into account when adjusting my cut settings. For this I put my blade up to 9 (keep in mind I'm probably due to replace it!) and used the double cut feature. Once I was happy with my cut settings I was able to cut my resized pineapples and use a burnishing technique to add the silk microfine glitter to whe...
