Simon Says Stamp: A Summer Hello

Image
I been (slow and steadily) getting through some of my Simon Says Stamp card kits. I love my kit subscription but I don't always use the kits in the way you'd think to use a card kit! Most of the paper gets separated (this stuff I use for other cards - I love their cardstock in particular!) If it comes with an ink that gets relocated to my ink storage area (so it can get used ASAP) which generally leaves the stamp... These cards were made from the Simon Says Stamp July card kit. I mostly used the stamp (and the die that came in the kit) I also used some of the coordinating card and paper!   I managed to come up with three cards - I especially love the wave/water stamp in this set. Lots of fun stamping this, alternating in a few of the Gina.K inks I own in shades of blue. Here is the final card I created with this stamp set. It's been quite hot here in South Australia - so these cards are perfect for sending a Summer hello to so...

SSS - August Kit of the Month

Image
A couple of weeks ago I had a awful cold - in fact I still don't feel 100% better but during those few days (where I needed to carry a tissue box everywhere I went!) I really just wanted to have a little me time (did I mention - the kids and hubby all had the same thing...). I really wasn't in the mood for thinking and since the kids were waking up frequently during the night I also wanted an early night...I decided to pull out one of my Simon Say's Stamp cards kits and have a play .    I actually made quite a few cards - though I did end up calling it a night and finishing a few more over the following few days.  Here are the cards using SSS - August kit of the month. In all honesty I think this stamp set and sticker are well suited for a scrapbook page - but I managed to pick a few of the stickers and work them in to these thank you themed cards. Happy Crafting! Yay! For the Weekend...

Image
Who's glad its the weekend - ME! It's been crazy busy - add three sick kiddies and I haven't stopped or slept. So this will be a super quick post to share a card that I've been trying to write up since Monday... I recently shared a card I made using some watercolour cards from a Simon Says Stamp kit. (Blog post here ). This card was made soon after that - this time testing out some new Jane Davenport pens I got from Paper Flourish ! I'm in love with this new watercolour medium. It was really easy to work with and the colours are so vibrant! Anyways here is the card and hope you all have a wonderful weekend! (Fingers crossed I'll get some much wanted craft time - I've posted a few goodies on Instagram I received during the week and really want to make a few cards). Happy Crafting! Entered into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Challenges - view here  and here . Samantha

Watercolour Cactus Card

Image
Today I wanted to share a watercolour card I made during the week. The card came with the Simon Says Stamp May 2017 card kit and I finally decided to colour it in! I used my Zig brush pens and it was super easy to colour - the card is quite a thick card and good quality. I also really like that its a white white base rather then the slightly yellow watercolour card I've seen around. The card kit came with two of these pre-printed, colour in, watercolour based cards so I look forward to sharing another card soon - I got the new Jane Davenport pens too, so a perfect way to try these out! For those who follow me on instagram - I was a little hesitant to die-cut the card (especially once it was coloured) but I am quite happy I did and love how it turned out. Happy Crafting and thanks for stopping by! Samantha

Happy Easter & Simon Says Stamp Card Kit October 2016

Image
Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter long weekend - I've spent most of it preparing for something special which I hope to share with you soon! I've also been able to give my craft room a really good tidy and a little re-organisation. A few items - mainly inks and dies (which I clearly have too many of!) as well as card kits. I am also catching up on a few blog posts. Yay! I'm rather behind on my card kits from last year as I was pregnant for half of it and the second half was adjusting to having a newborn again. I cant believe how many I have...but I am slowly getting through them! These cards use the October 2016 card kit. Its Autumn themed, not the colours I'd normally play with, but I was thrilled at how they turned out and absolutely loved the challenge. In today's post I'm sharing a whole bunch of Easter cards I created. I normally don't make Easter cards but I finally opened some of my Simon Says Stamp card kits from last year and decided Easter was a good place to start! Hope you all have a safe and wonderful Easter - I will be spending this time with family and a little of it will be making some new cards to share with you. I also have some fantastic news that I can't wait to share but for now I will leave you with the below card inspiration. Some of the items used will be listed under each photo. Create your own background...

Image
I've made a few cards over the last two weeks and I am finally doing a little bit of blog catch up! This card was created using the stamp in the first image below ( Simon Says Stamp: Nutty Over You ). I'm pretty sure its a stamp that co-ordinates with the sentiments but instead I used it to create my own background. I love using the unexpected stamp to create something different.  I did the same for a card I made last month which got a lovely mention on the Lil' Inker's Blog for their You Made It Monday feature which you can view here . The Card is also shown below. I used the belly of the bird stamp ( Lil' Inker's: Hello Beautiful ) to create the background.  Simon Says Stamp: Nutty Over You  Lil' Inker's: Hello Beautiful Happy Crafting! Bunnies on my Mind...

Image
The last two weeks I've been making Easter cards using a Simon Says Stamp Set called My Kind of Peep. I didn't really get any of the sentiment though...it might be American Slang? but none of the sentiments were appropriate. So...at first I just printed a few sentiments out (I'll share these cards with you soon.) I then realised (lets call it a moment of clarity from a sleep deprived mother of three...) that I have at least TEN alphabet stamps and coordinating dies that allow me to make my own sentiment! So using the Bunny from the SSS My Kind of Peep set and a few alphabet stamps (WPlus9, Sweet Stamp Shop, Paper Smooches) I made these two baby cards... I really love the WPlus9 alpha set. I'm still making a few more cards using a combination of these stamps but I thought I'd share and remind you all to use those alphabet stamps!!! (Just in case you were having a sleep deprived - whoopsie kinda moment like me!) Entered into  Simon Says Stamp Monday...
