Craftie Cafe: An extra baby card...

Image
Last week I shared a few cards using WPlus9 - Banner Love stamp set. I made a few extra banners and thought I'd create two more baby themed cards...Click here  to see the previous cards I created... Here are the (new) cards. Quite a simple card using left over banners that didn't get used. I adhered them to my card front, followed by a machine stitched line. Next I stamped the sentiment from Wplus9 - Happy Gang stamp set and I finished it off by embellishing it with some My Little Paper World sequins . Since I also had left over blue banners I couldn't help but make the same card in blue... I'm quite happy I was able to use up my left overs - normally they get put aside for 'just in case' moments and don't actually ever get used!  Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting... Samantha

Craftie Café: WPlus9 – A Banner Baby Card

Image
I’m back again for Craftie Café – sharing my second lot of baby themed cards. These cards use WPlus9 – Banner Love stamp & the sentiments are from WPlus9 – Happy Gang both currently in stock. I decided that I wanted to create a fun textural element to these cards – recently I’ve been machine sewing on my cards but before I had a sewing machine I hand stitched quite a bit. It’s been ages since I’ve done this and I thought it would be the perfect touch to these banner cards… Here are the cards: I decided to create one card on white and a second card on Kraft – these cards could be tailored to suit any colour really and if you changed up the sentiments you could very easily turn these in to birthday or congratulation card. To create these cards I started by stamping the banners using Lawn Fawn ink (Fish Tank/Mermaid) on white card. Next, I fussy cut them out, then used re-positional tape to temporarily adhered them to my card front. I then drew a fa...

Craftie Café: Wplus9 Encouraging Words.

Image
I’m back again sharing a whole bunch of cards that I made for Craftie Café! The theme this month is graduation but I couldn’t pass up this WPlus9 stamp set – Encouraging words . So these cards are probably more pre-graduation… something I’d give to someone about to take their exams or even about to have their first job/interview. Either way – they’re very empowering cards meant to encourage a person in whatever they need to achieve. I’ve also been meaning to make a rainbow series of cards– everyone seems to be jumping on this colour scheme and there are a few ways to achieve this look – I’ve used distress inks and simple repetitive stamping but I’ve seen a few cards where these colours have been blended using a blending tool and also love the look of this technique. Certainly a technique I wish to explore more. These cards are bright and colourful – and rainbows seemed appropriate for this type of card. Below you will find a list of supplies (with links) used to make these car...

Craftie Cafe: A Wedding Card 2.0

Image
Today  I am sharing two wedding themed cards I created using WPlus9 stamps  for Craftie  Café design team.    I’m really into flowers at the moment – I especially love colouring flowers which is what I did with my last wedding themed card (see blog post here ). This time I decided to use WPlus9 Happy Wishes stamp which meant playing around with inks. I decided to use my Altenew inks – but you can use what you have in your stash – for me I really wanted three shades of pink and two shades of green as well as a few greys to complete the look I got in this card.   To replicate this card - I first traced a large heart (in pencil) to guide where my flowers and leaves needed to be stamped. Once I finished stamping around the pencil marks, I die-cut the heart. I added tulle and twine in between the heart and card base for added interest and finished the card off by heat embossing the sentiment on grey card and some My Little Paper World sequins.  ...
