My Little Paper World

Hello - Welcome! It's September release time over at Craftin Desert Divas . All week the design team has been sharing their cards and inspiration using the latest fun holiday/Halloween themed stamps, stencils, and dies. If you've missed it come join in the fun over at Craftin Desert Divas Facebook Group . Here is one of my cards using the stamp set Doxie Duos which I paired with the new release stencil . I used Distress Oxide Inks - Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Black Soot and a blending tool to outline the stencil.  After this dried I machine stitched the web details. I then adhered my stamped sentiment, and die cut grass. I then added more machine stitched details and embellished the web with Craftin Desert Divas Sequins.  After my card front was finished I moved on to colouring the witch Doxie and pumpkins. Today I have a simple card I'd like to share using the new August release Mushroom Border die from Craftin Desert Divas and Distress Oxide Inks. I don't own very many oxide inks I have about ten but I still wanted to share one way of using these inks to highlight areas of a die-cut. For this card I am using: Candied Apple, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feahers, Cracked Pistachio, Abandoned Coral, and Picked Raspberry.  I used a blending brush (which I prefer over a blending sponge) to apply ink on to my die-cut snails. I used watercolour cardstock as I find that the ink absorbs more evenly and that I don't need to work as hard to get the ink onto my cardstock. I then co-ordinated matching patterned paper to each snail and used the shell die-cut. These were adhered to each snail with foam tape. I made so many Valentine's day cards that I'll be sharing LOVE themed cards throughout February and probably well into March! This was an extra card I created using some of the extra bits I got from my last Craftie Cafe haul. I'm loving border dies at the moment - I love how versatile they are and this heart border from Taylored Expression will be added to one of my favourites!  I used Distress Oxide inks and blended these on to some white card which I then used to die cut the border dies. I adhered these to my white card base (My Little Paper World - Tribal Rectangle Nesting die) and then added stitched lines. I stamped the sentiment and embellished the card with sequins and silver hearts). Just a quick share of some cards I made for Ink Road Stamps using Call me Maybe stamp set.  I used the small heart bubble stamp and the multiple heart stamp and decided to take these two small images and make them the feature of my cards. How does one make such a small stamp 'pop'? Repetitive stamping - I love it! I use the stamps to create my background and stamped the sentiments on black and heat embossed them in white.
