Craftie Cafe: Happy Easter #2 (+ Shaker Card!)

Image
Memory Box always has very versatile and cute dies – the Sketch Bunny and Background were perfectly paired together to create so many different options that they were instantly added to my Craftie CafĂ© shopping cart so that I could share two ways to create a card with them. The first card I decided I wanted see what these bunnies would look like together. So I created a simple layout that showcased the bunnies. I first die-cut the background bunnies (x6) which I then stamped using Impression Obsessions – Mini Patterns 2 - Cling Rubber Stamp and a selection of lawn fawn inks. I then die-cut the sketch bunny (outline) in co-ordinating colours that matched the inks and then adhered the pairs together. I assembled my card – stamping the sentiment and adhering the six bunnies to my card front. I machine stitched a white border (optional) and I added little pompoms (I’m not entirely sure what they’re called – but they came out of my kids craft box!) for little bunny tails. Here i...

Craftie Cafe: Easter's on its Way!

Image
Easter is on it’s way! After Christmas when Hot Cross Buns became available at the shops I was thrilled! I’m also a BIG chocolate eater – I love Easter and love getting a chance to challenge myself and create a few Easter themed cards with a few supplies I got from Craftie CafĂ© . I have in the past created my Easter cards based on religious themed stamps and dies, but as I’ve had kids (who are all now at the age where an Easter egg hunt is the best thing ever!) my cards now reflect this… so todays card (with video tutorial) is rather cute and was a lot of fun (messy too!) and all about the eggs…and bunnies! Here is the card: I used a combination of Lawn Fawn inks, my finger (wonderful stamping tool!) and Poppystamps die - bunny ears to create this grid layout Easter card. The sentiments are from Impression Obsession: Easter Basket - which is unfortunatlely now out of stock - but any Easter sentiment would work with this card. I took the opportunity to create a few ...

Impression Obsession: Clean and Simple Challenge (Easter's on its Way!)

Image
I had some time extra card making time this week and decided to use this cute little stamp set from Impression Obsession and play along with their current challenge - clean and simple . Here is my card: Supplies Used: Impression Obessesion: Easter Basket stamp set. Lawn Fawn Inks : Grape Soda/Minty Fresh/Ballet Slippers/Celery Stick/Butter Twine White Cardstock My Little Paper World Sequins MISTI Sewing Machine Paper Trimmer Tape Runner/Glue Dots This set had so many stamping options that I couldn't stop at just one card. I created an addition three cards (not so clean - but definitely simple) that you can view below. Stamping the bunnies above was fun but...not as much fun as stamping the eggs! See card below. I love the option of an outline and a block stamp - so many options in terms of stamping, or even colouring. For this card I used the same ink colours to create rows of eggs, highlighting one egg in each row by using the ...

Craftie Cafe: Happy Halloween with Ghosties!

Image
Let me just say – I do not celebrate Halloween (though I may or may not buy and snack on a few of the jumbo sized candy bags that become available in the lead up towards it.) But … Halloween seems to be gaining popularity here in Australia and let’s be honest I’m not going to pass up an opportunity to work with Halloweens awesome colour scheme - oranges, purple and black! When we were given this theme from our lovely Craftie CafĂ© co-ordinator I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to play with. I was browsing their web store for a few days before I settled on the Impression Obsession die – Ghosties. I originally wanted something that could be used again because I’m also one who likes to be able to get the most out of what I buy especially when it comes to craft supplies! There were a number of dies that would have worked with the card design I made – cats, bats, witches, pumpkins, skeleton, even owls! I searched for these words using the Craftie CafĂ© search engine and really h...
