Unity - April 2017 Kit of the Month (plus video)

Image
So very very recently I started playing around with video editing software to learn how to create a craft video to inspire others and share different techniques. It was one of the things in my New Years Resolution post that I wanted to achieve this year - and Yay! I did... It's still a very new skill and there is a lot of room for improvement - technically this is my second video (and I've also made a slideshow which you can view here ), but I wanted to test out what the video would look like using a lamp as a light source as that was one of the issues I had (now heading into winter and overcast weather) with my first video. I also decided that for now its best to remove sound (unless you would like to hear the car revving noises a two and four year old can make, along with the relaxing cooing noises of a 8 month old...) and to just add text for additional instructions on how I make the cards in the video.  Your feedback is very much welcome! On to the cards...

Awesome News! I'm designing for...

Hooray! I'm designing for  Craftie Cafe ! I was super excited when I got the email and I'm so happy to be part of this team to showcase some of the awesome craft products that they stock. This is my first blog post for this design team - the theme: Mother's Day! This year will be my 4th year personally celebrating as a 'mummy'. I'm hoping I will get my first handmade card from my 4 year old who started kindy this year. For those that don't know I am a mum of three. So far...I've been a little too busy (doing mummy stuff) to celebrate previous mothers days (and they're too little to make me breakfast in bed!) but I've always made the time to create a special card for my own mum - who (especially this year) has been super helpful. I made this card using  Waffle Flowers Leafy  stamp and coordinating die set. Below you will find a slideshow video of instructions and a supplies list with links to the products used to make this card.

Happy Easter & Simon Says Stamp Card Kit October 2016

Image
Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter long weekend - I've spent most of it preparing for something special which I hope to share with you soon! I've also been able to give my craft room a really good tidy and a little re-organisation. A few items - mainly inks and dies (which I clearly have too many of!) as well as card kits. I am also catching up on a few blog posts. Yay! I'm rather behind on my card kits from last year as I was pregnant for half of it and the second half was adjusting to having a newborn again. I cant believe how many I have...but I am slowly getting through them! These cards use the October 2016 card kit. Its Autumn themed, not the colours I'd normally play with, but I was thrilled at how they turned out and absolutely loved the challenge. Create your own background...

I've made a few cards over the last two weeks and I am finally doing a little bit of blog catch up! This card was created using the stamp in the first image below ( Simon Says Stamp: Nutty Over You ). I'm pretty sure its a stamp that co-ordinates with the sentiments but instead I used it to create my own background. I love using the unexpected stamp to create something different.  I did the same for a card I made last month which got a lovely mention on the Lil' Inker's Blog for their You Made It Monday feature which you can view here . The Card is also shown below. I used the belly of the bird stamp ( Lil' Inker's: Hello Beautiful ) to create the background.  Simon Says Stamp: Nutty Over You  Lil' Inker's: Hello Beautiful Happy Crafting!
