The Cut Shoppe: Guest Designer Part. 2

Image
Today I am back sharing my second set of cards I created as guest designer for The Cut Shoppe. Here is the first of two cards using the cut file Flutterby . I've seen these beautiful butterflies used on so many scrapbook pages - I wanted to challenge myself and see if they could be re-sized in a way to fit on a card. I knew the whole butterfly circle wouldn't fit on my card - so once I had re-sized it to a suitable size I selected areas that would be featured on the card. I managed to get five butterflies on my 5 x 7 inch card and used bright coloured card and vellum to add colour and dimension to the butterflies. Both cards have machine stitched details and have been embellished with sequins and a twine bow. The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs: General Sentiments stamp set. Here is my second card: Hope you enjoyed my guest featured cards for The Cut Shoppe - Thank you Ashley for the invitation to create with you cut files.  Ha...

Ink Road Stamp: Pattern Play with Between the Lines

Image
I can't believe how fast the months are flying by! Last week an awful cold flew through the household - I'm only now feeling better and playing blog catch up with all my June blog post. This card was shared on Ink Road Stamps blog last week. Check out the original blog post - here . I decided to take Ink Road Stamps Between the Lines and create a triangle background which included making use of the stamp set to highlight and add interest to my background. This took quite a bit of time but well worth the effort - I kept it simple by adding the sentiments from Just a Number using the same colour palette.  While I had the stamp set out I decided to create another card. This time I stamped on strips of cardstock and stamped the sentiments directly on to the card. I added this to a black card base. I love the contrast in colour. The bright really pops of the card! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Jane's Doodle's: Unicorn's & Rainbows

Image
Today I have six cards to share with you...that's right SIX! It may feel a little 'it's been done before' but I really couldn't help but pair this Jane's Doodle - Unicorn set with rainbows... Here is the first card: I coloured the unicorns with my Copic markers - keeping to the rainbow colour scheme. They were cut out using my silhouette cameo, along with the clouds and stars in this stamp set. I've used a number of dies to create the background. The rainbow is My Favourite Things . The tiny stars, hearts and bows are Avery Elle. The BIG cloud is a Mama Elephant die. I also added a slider die - this one comes from Lawn Fawn. As you can see in the photo below I also added a few extra 'bits' to add dimension and texture to this card. I've used a lot of glitter! Glitter paper, chunky glitter (Unicorns wings and Clouds), glitter pen, and Stickles -Gold (Unicorns horn). I used glossy accents for the cloud and stars. Added My Little P...

Elizabeth Craft Designs: Jungle Cuties

Image
Today I'm sharing a card I created using Elizabeth Craft Designs: Jungle Cuties . I've actually had this stamp set for ages (before I became a design team member...) I fell in love with it's cute critters and I previously use it to create other cards - which you can view here .  Today I'm using the little elephant stamp to create this baby card. I stamped and used the co-ordinating dies to cut out the elephants, which I then coloured using my Copic markers. The background was stamped using a stamp from the same set and I added a few stitched details and sequins to add interest to this card.  I added the sentiment from an Avery Elle stamp set which complimented these elephants - perfect for a baby card. Change the colours to pink and it could very easily be used to celebrate a baby girls arrival.  The elephants were adhered using foam tape - I do like to add dimension to a card. Thanks for stopping by for this quick card share today! Happy C...

Craftie Cafe: Easter's on its Way!

Image
Easter is on it’s way! After Christmas when Hot Cross Buns became available at the shops I was thrilled! I’m also a BIG chocolate eater – I love Easter and love getting a chance to challenge myself and create a few Easter themed cards with a few supplies I got from Craftie Café . I have in the past created my Easter cards based on religious themed stamps and dies, but as I’ve had kids (who are all now at the age where an Easter egg hunt is the best thing ever!) my cards now reflect this… so todays card (with video tutorial) is rather cute and was a lot of fun (messy too!) and all about the eggs…and bunnies! Here is the card: I used a combination of Lawn Fawn inks, my finger (wonderful stamping tool!) and Poppystamps die - bunny ears to create this grid layout Easter card. The sentiments are from Impression Obsession: Easter Basket - which is unfortunatlely now out of stock - but any Easter sentiment would work with this card. I took the opportunity to create a few ...
