La La Land Crafts - Have You Heard? (Club La La Land)

Image
At the beginning of last year I said I wouldn't start another card kit or stamp subscription...but...towards the end of last year I came across a super cute club that I wanted to be apart of! La La Land Crafts has a fun monthly kit which comes with red rubber stamps and dies and today I'm sharing a few cards I created with my first kit (December).    Each card features the cute Panda Bear stamp/s and also includes the dies available in the subscription kit. I basically added card stock and a few embellishments to finish off each card. I decided I wanted to go really bright and colourful - a nice contrast to black and white bears.  My second card uses the negatives left over from the first card (I love it when I don't waste paper!). I of course added some stitching and coloured the bears in with Copic markers. Copic markers used provided below.  Supplies Used: La La  Land Crafts - December Club Kit  Card Stock Corrugated Card Copic Markers...

Its called Alpaca Wishes and just like the name suggests its got really cute Alpaca's and a soft Christmas Wintery feel to it. Its probably one technique I haven't used in the longest time but it works so well with this collection box . StickerKitten: Mermaid Treasures (Paper Tearing Part. 1)

Image
Hello! Early this month I got my amazing Mermaid Treasures Collection Box from StickerKitten. As you can tell by the name it's ocean/mermaid themed and full of pretty embellishments and paper. It also has two stamp set which have the most adorable images. I've decided to split my blog post into two parts. One of the things I love most about StickerKitten's Collection Boxes is how easy it is to create card sets. I ended up creating seven cards (over 3-4 days) using one simple background technique and the Mermaid Treasure ephemera . I've included a step by step instruction for the first card and a few tips on what I would call a classic technique that anyone of any age could do: Paper Tearing. Here is the first card: Card Instructions: Step 1: Take three strips of pattern paper (measuring: 5cm x 10cm) and rip the bottoms off each one. Step 2: Adhere these three strips to the top of your cardfront as shown (Trim edges if necessary). (Cardfront m...

Hooray! I'm on the StickerKitten blog sharing yet another set of three cards I created using the Unicorn Fairground Collection Box!  You can view the original blog post here with full instructions on how to create these cards below.  These cards were a lot of fun to create - playing with the weave technique and exploring other ways to create a background using strips of paper! Here are another two card examples: If you haven't seen the next collection box from StickerKitten ....you should! I'm waiting for mine to arrive via snail mail but can't wait to play with this mermaid/ocean themed set! Here is a sneak peak...BUT!!!...View the whole collection here - now available for sale. Happy Crafting!

StickerKitten: Unicorn Fairground Part.2

Image
Hello! Last month I received my first collection kit from StickerKitten . With it I created a fun set of three cards (you can view them here .) Soon after as I was cleaning up the mess I had made I came up with another layout to use up some more ephemera and pattern paper from their paper packs. Here is the card: Card Instructions: Step 1: Create a card front using pattern paper from Unicorn Fairground paper pack. Use a corner punch to the top right corner. Measurements: 10.5cm x 15cm Step 2: On white card stamp the sentiment 'celebrate' as shown. Trim to size. Measurements: 8cm x 7cm Step 3: Add machine stitched details. (Optional) Step 4: Using foam tape adhere the ephemera and sentiment piece to card base. Step 5: Embellish with StickerKitten sequins and finish off with a twine bow. Adhere card front to a side folding card base. Tips: Instead of machine stitched lines use a white, light purple or light grey felt tip pen to create faux stitch...
