Awesome News! I'm designing for...

Hooray! I'm designing for  Craftie Cafe ! I was super excited when I got the email and I'm so happy to be part of this team to showcase some of the awesome craft products that they stock. This is my first blog post for this design team - the theme: Mother's Day! This year will be my 4th year personally celebrating as a 'mummy'. I'm hoping I will get my first handmade card from my 4 year old who started kindy this year. For those that don't know I am a mum of three. So far...I've been a little too busy (doing mummy stuff) to celebrate previous mothers days (and they're too little to make me breakfast in bed!) but I've always made the time to create a special card for my own mum - who (especially this year) has been super helpful. I made this card using  Waffle Flowers Leafy  stamp and coordinating die set. Below you will find a slideshow video of instructions and a supplies list with links to the products used to make this card. ...

How organised for mother's day are you???

So who here has sorted their mother's day cards out? I'm one smart cookie, I'm 1 year in advance! So I've now made my mother's day card for next year plus a few more for special orders. :) This (or should I say next) years card is a pretty simple one! I got some unity stamps in the mail this week and decided to combine two of them. I also decided to make a friendship card (as this was the original sentiment with the butterfly stamps). I stamped them on Kraft (my go to...) then coloured outside the lines of the butterfly. Add some twine and enamel dots and you've got a card!!! Of course...I used My Little Paper World dies, this time I managed to use the circle nesting dies - TRIBAL which I haven't had a chance to use yet!  Heads up there will be on sale for my dies on mother's day (which I will get to celebrate with my 2 boys and #3 who is due not soon enough!)    Here is the card for some mother's day inspiration! Today I'm sharing a card I created and I just have to say how much I love this stamp/die set from Mama Elephant. This sentiment is so beautiful that I had to use it - I'll be saving this card for next years mothers day :) Just not sure if its for my mum or for me....lol (I really love this card!) I also got to (finally!!!) try creating my own night sky background using distress inks -     I used Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves, Victorian Velvet, and Antique Linen. This video by Kristina Werner is an excellent video showing you the technique involved. Simple really....mask it off and start blending till your happy :) I added 'droplets' of Dylusions spray - White Linen and gold and silver leaf to the stars and moon to give them an awesome shine. The photos don't show it - but they're very bright :) I plan on making a whole bunch of cards using this stamp set, as you'll see in the next photo I went a little over...

Mother's Day Card #2

Image
So...I had thought I was all organised this year, I had already made my mum in law her mothers day card. But my hubby asked if I could make another one with a specific sentiment...so I did! : No excuses needed here to get crafty! Bonus:  now I'm all organised with a mother's day card for next year too :) Entered into SSS: Lets get sentimental challenge. But wait! There's more... I loved making this card with this stamp from mama elephant. Super easy stamping technique too - using coloured pigment inks over white.   So using the same technique and stamps I made this for my mum. Happy Crafting! Samantha

Throwback Thursday!

Image
The last few days has been so difficult, not being able to make a card while we pack up the last few rooms and get organised for the move back to Adelaide next week. However, when I'm not packing, changing nappies, watching "peppa pig', taking the dog for a walk, cooking, online craft shopping etc. I'm blog hopping, or pinning ideas on Pinterest ready for inspiration to hit when everything is unpacked. I'll be ready to get right back into it! I've decided this weeks blog requires a 'Throwback Thursday', a card to inspire others... This is a card I created 2013 for mothers day and with May fast approaching some mothers day card inspiration might just be what you need :) Created using a Prima stencil and watercolour paint. The next card, also for mothers day was created using a Hero Art Stamps and Inktense Watercolour Pencils.  With all the packing, then the unpacking, my next project will be to create my Mothers d...
