Lil' Inkers: So Prickly

Image
Today I wanted to quickly share three cards I created using Lil Inker stamp set: So Prickly . I used a variety of Gina K inks - the brightest colours possible, and used a fun technique called rock n' roll stamping (with the aid of my MISTI tool).  I've used this technique quite a few times recently - and would highly recommend watching some Youtube videos and giving it a go yourself. I seem to own a lot of 'block' type stamps like this one and it's quite fun and relaxing - stamping away (with your favourite colours) while watching t.v. The final card - I went stamp crazy! I created a background adding the sentiments and a heart to finish it off... Thanks for stopping by - Happy Monday - enjoy the rest of the week! Samantha

Craftie Cafe: Happy Dads Day!

Image
What a crazy week! I can’t believe we are well in to August already! Weekends starting from July seem to be birthday party after birthday party! My littlest just turned ONE! And my eldest will be FIVE in two weeks. Life is feeling very full at the moment – and the only thing I wish would improve is this cold weather! (I’m writing this in bed with a cold that I got from the kids who all had it last week…) So with all this (non-stop) life stuff happening I’m super happy to at least admit that I’m super organised in the cards department – today I’m sharing a card I made for Craftie Café. Yup! Father’s Day themed – it’s perfect because September really is just around the corner and father’s day also happens to fall on the same weekend as both my parents birthday – normally I would combine a card for their birthday (add a P.S Happy Father’s Day at the bottom) but this year is one of those BIG number birthdays so separate cards for everyone! Including the Father’s Day… Here is the c...

I've made a few cards over the last two weeks and I am finally doing a little bit of blog catch up! This card was created using the stamp in the first image below ( Simon Says Stamp: Nutty Over You ). I'm pretty sure its a stamp that co-ordinates with the sentiments but instead I used it to create my own background. I love using the unexpected stamp to create something different.  I did the same for a card I made last month which got a lovely mention on the Lil' Inker's Blog for their You Made It Monday feature which you can view here . The Card is also shown below. I used the belly of the bird stamp ( Lil' Inker's: Hello Beautiful ) to create the background.  Simon Says Stamp: Nutty Over You  Lil' Inker's: Hello Beautiful Happy Crafting! Hello, Beautiful...

So during the week I made a few cards using Lil' Inker Designs stamps and since I had the stamps and inks out I continued to make a few more over the weekend.  I normally prefer to colour my images - but I have a rather large collection of 'solid' type stamps that until now I haven't used due to not enough ink colours or I just haven't been happy with the stamped result. I finally invested in a few sets of ink pads (Gina K, Delicata Metals Pack and Altenew). I then bought some Neenah Solar White (Smooth) card (which I noticed had positive reviews on several facebook craft groups) and I've had my MISTI for awhile now and knew that this would eliminate any stamping mistakes I made. I'm super happy with these cards - they're simple. I just wanted to have fun with some different colour combinations and test out my new inks and paper!  Above card entered into Addicted to CAS - Seaside challenge (Ink Colours: Ocean Mist, Turquoise Sea, and...

New Challenge up on CAS(E) this sketch ! Here are my two cards based on this weeks sketch. Apologies for the darkness in my photos, if I take the photo too late in the afternoon I can't take advantage of the natural light - and I was too impatient to wait for tomorrow... Above card entered into CASOLOGY challenge: Foliage I'm using two Lil' Inker Stamps sets - Hello Beautiful and The Little Things. Also entered into Simon Says Stamp: Bit O Green challenge , and Simon Says Stamp: Handmade Flowers challenge .  Happy Crafting and Enjoy the Weekend! This week has been crazy busy! Sunday was Phoebe's baptism, Monday a public holiday...and I feel like I've done nothing all week but clean, cook and clean again! and....and...my house still looks messy! Plus side - we wont go hungry! This week I did manage to make a few cards. I wanted to give my new Gina K inks a go, so after making a swatch sheet I got out some Lil Inker stamps and got creative. I created these with the intention of entering them in a few challenges (some of which I missed the deadline...ah well...).  The first card is very feminine, purples, pink, and yellow. The second more masculine - monochromatic using shades of grey and black. The stamp set is Lil' Inkers - Hello Beautiful . Both cards I managed to stamp off the edge which is CAS-ual Fridays current challenge . P.S They have a design team call which is open internationally.  Happy Crafting!
