Elizabeth Craft Designs: June Challenge (Hexagons)

Image
It's that time of month again! Challenge time over at Elizabeth Craft Designs . This month's theme is hexagon's . For my card I decided to use up some of my love themed paper from Modascrap and Elizabeth Craft Designs Bee Die to create a "Bee Mine" card. I know it's not exactly the right time of year to be creating Valentine's/Love themed card - but I wanted to play around with creating a heart shape using the hexagon die and I wanted to avoid the yellow colours you would normally use/see when creating cards with bees on it. I think the colour combo is great - especially with the added glitter and texture from the stitching and sequins. I also love the contrast on Kraft card.  For the sentiment I used Elizabeth Craft Designs - Love Sentiment stamp set. The original sentiment is 'Be Mine' - a little bit of creative masking of the words/letters allowed me to add the extra e in the word bee.  After creating the heart shape with t...

Jaded Blossom: Challenge Guest Designer

Image
I'm thrilled to say that I'm a guest designer over at Jaded Blossom for this month! The last two weeks I've been buried in paper, ink and lollies (yup the sweet delicious kind) to create a few fun projects that I can't wait to share with you! First up, I'm participating the this month Jaded Blossom Challenge. I've never actually created from a tic tac toe challenge board before. I have to say I probably included more then the three I actually need to pick from... Here is my card: Here is the challenge: I chose diagonally working with die-cut, enamel dots, and circle. (Technically I also used the opposite diagonal line and used birthday, enamel dots, and blue!)  The supplies I used to create this card are listed below with direct links. This was the first time working with Jaded Blossom stamps and dies - I love that they have such a fun selection of party favour items. The Bot Candies and Robotastic stamps are perfect for card making a...

Elizabeth Craft Designs: May Challenge

Image
It's another Challenge over at Elizabeth Craft Designs . This was a very much welcomed challenged for me...I finally got to play around with their silk microfine glitter. Here is the card I created for this months challenge: All That Glitters I used Elizabeth Craft Designs: Daisy die and a combination of glitter from their newly release Earth Palette pack. I also added the banner sentiment and die to complete this card. As you can see I added glitter to certain areas of the flower and highlighted the ends of the banner. Check out a few of Elizabeth Craft Designs video tutorials - they have a great resource of information on how best to use their glitter.  If you'd like to see more glitter inspiration - check out more craft projects created by the design team . Itty Bitty Stamp - Not so, Itty Bitty Card...

Image
Today I am sharing a card using Unity Itty Bitty - Captured My Heart (Artist Lisa Arana) . These cards were made for their current Unity Challenge which can be viewed here  - Unity [Show & Tell] . I really like this image - so much so...that I decided that I would create a few cards with it. I got a little carried away with the stamp and my MISTI tool. It can be quite difficult to decide when to stop! My first card (below) was originally a line...I then added another line, and then another line and then decided I had to create a background of camera images. I decided to paper piece one camera on each card. I generally don't like fussy cutting (love dies!) but I made an exception for this card, and it wasn't too difficult to cut a few straight lines! :)  Its also a technique I haven't tried in a long time - most likely because I don't like cutting images out... but glad I did as the card came together really nicely. I used pink card and the patterned paper ...

A Unity Challenge

Image
I have a whole bunch of unity stamps that are just collecting dust!!! So I am making a HUGE effort to get through them all and use them (at least once!). Unity currently run weekly challenges, and its a great excuse to move through my very large collection!  This weeks photo challenge (below) I took the blacks, blues, yellows and green and used them to make this card. I used ZIG clean colour water brushes and originally was going to use a more water-coloured looked (to complement the photo) but I was so impressed with the bright colours I decided to just go with it!  I used My Little Paper World - Rectangle Nesting Dies (TRIBAL) to die-cut some water colour paper, stamped Unity's 'on me way' a couple of times and coloured it in! Added black card and stamped the sentiment using white embossing powder.  I'm not finished with this stamp set - I'm going to play around some more with the colours and perhaps try adding water to get the original ...
