Unity Stamps Creative Colour Competition

Image
Just sharing a Artist Trading Card I created quickly from a free digital stamp that is currently available from Unity Stamp Company Blog . They are having a little competition, basically colour the image in and create something beautiful with it. When finished post it to their 'show and tell' facebook page. There is an opportunity to win a guest design spot! I don't really expect to win - but I haven't coloured in awhile, so I thought I'd colour this image in while watching an episode of 'teen wolf'. Enjoy!  Title: Bloom Inktense Pencils and Perfect Pearls Happy Crafting!    Samantha

Oh...How I long for Spring!

Image
Scrap with Us  had a lovely ATC theme this month of seasons. My favourite season is Spring, and with this cold winter weather I just can't wait for this season and the joyous transformations that goes along with it!  Here are the completed ATC: A brief overview on how I created this: I embossed my new hero art stamp (large flower background) in white on craft card paper slightly smaller than a ATC. I than coloured the main image using my inktense pencils (which I absolutely L.O.V.E!). Distressed the edges, then stuck it down to the ATC card (which originally was pink coloured card stock, but ended up liking the look of craft paper better - gives it a nice recycled spring feel). Then I printer 'welcome spring' (also on craft paper) and (painfully) cut each letter out individually and glued them to the ATC. (Repeat 8 times!) These are probably  my favourite ATC  so far...  Lot of fun creating these cards, and we all know I love th...

Happy Mothers Day...

Image
Well today is mother's day, and yesterday I created this card for my mum (who is absolutely 100% amazing and the bestest mum (and Lola) in the whole wide world!) It also happens to be my first mother's day this year, so a special day indeed. Don't think he did it on purpose...but I got a little sleep in this morning. I have entered this card into the  Mema's Crafts  May anything goes challenge. Theme: mother's day. Happy Mother's Day to all mums out there. Happy Crafting!   Samantha

Inspiration everywhere!

So yesterday in Big W as I was looking through the book section (wanting to buy one for my little boy) I came across this colouring book which I immediately drew inspiration from.  So for $5.00 I bought it and with my inktense pencils have been colouring in this book full of flower doodles (I feel like a little girl again). Not only have I been colouring in but I got the inspiration to do my own flower doodle and of course colour it in with my inktense pencils. Here is a photo of my flower:  I drew it first in pencil. I liked knowing that if I did a mistake that I could erase it. I then used my micron pens (no.3) and went over it.  Here is the coloured in photo: I just love the vibrant colours...and working with my inktense pencils was so easy. It took an hour to colour in the whole flower. I used Tim Holtz distress ink pads with a blending tool to create the background.  Pinterest is also a great source of inspiration. I have star...

A little something for me...

Last week I spoiled myself. Though not necessarily an impulse buy as I did do a fair bit of research into this product, it was certainly an expensive splurge. So...what did I buy you ask? (Drum roll please) A 36 pack of derwent Inktense pencils I just absolutely love these pencils. They are so easy to use and being a high pigment pencil the colours just 'pop'. I haven't been able to do much with them (yet!), it has unfortunately been a very hectic week. My little one has been sick and teething and over the weekend I had my stairs re-stained so I didn't had access to my craft room...but...I did manage to complete my April ATC's  of which all 9 were coloured in using my new Inktense pencils.  Happy Crafting!   Samantha
