Elizabeth Craft Designs: Hello Sunshine!

Image
Last week I shared a card for Elizabeth Craft Designs monthly challenge using their Bee die and Hexagon die . Since I had used alternate colours (and I was having so much fun creating fun patterns) I decided that I would continue to create more cards using these two dies...and traditional colours. Here is what I came up with:  I first used the smallest hexagon to die-cut several hexagons to create my background. I used Elizabeth Craft Designs card stock as well as vellum, and corrugated card. These were then arranged on my card front as shown above. I added stitched details and sequins. Heat embossed the sentiment.  For the bees I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Silk Microfine Glitter - Moonbeam . I also used their velvet adhesive sheet in yellow for the heart and vellum for their wings. As you can see in the photo below - the bees were added using foam tape. I finished the card off with a bow. Hexagons are a fun shape to create with. For my second card I decided

Elizabeth Craft Designs: Best Wishes

Hello - Welcome! Today I've got a new card using Elizabeth Craft Designs - Circle Background stamp. This is probably one of my favourite ways to create with background stamps - creating a fun and simple focal point from within the stamp. Here is the card: For complete step by step instructions head on over to the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog . I paired this background stamp with the sentiment and co-ordination die from Elizabeth Craft Designs - Banner Sentiments .  Happy Crafting!

Sticker Kitten: Unicorn Fairground

Image
June has been such a full on creative month! I’ve had so many wonderful design team packages arrive – including my very first design team package from Sticker Kitten! For today’s post I’m showcasing a set of three cards I created using bits from their Unicorn Fairground Collection Box.  Here is the first card: I wanted to combine both the stamp set and a few of the printed die-cuts from their Unicorn Fairground Die-Cut Ephemera pack. I don't often choose to work with ephemera because I love stamping so much but I was able to create three relatively simple cards under an hour - which for me is actually a world record! Below are some step by step instructions on how I created this card. I’ve kept the instruction simple – because the same process can be applied to all three cards. The main tip I have is to take your time with the stamping of the chevrons – I used my M.I.S.T.I tool which helped immensely because I could align and repeat the stamping process witho

Jaded Blossom: You Stole My Heart

Image
Hello – I've been guest designing for Jaded Blossom! I’ve had such a wonderful month creating cards and party favours using the new June release! What a GREAT release too – I thought it only fitting to use the Birthday Bandit stamp (since it was the last of the release stamps I hadn't used yet!) along with some of my favourite Jaded Blossom dies to create this fun card. Here it is! This card took a little planning – but I wanted to create a fun background using the Alphabet dies. It’s probably difficult to see – but after ink blending the letters and adhering them to my card base, I machine stitched lines in the shape of clouds. I wanted to keep the background light because I knew I wanted to add the balloons and the coloured image…I also knew there would be a LOT of pink… I used Copic Markers to colour both the bin and racoon. I’ve listed the Copic colours below in the supplies list. Supplies: Birthday Bandit Alphabet Dies Balloon Dies Other: Sewin

Elizabeth Craft Designs: June Challenge (Hexagons)

It's that time of month again! Challenge time over at Elizabeth Craft Designs . This month's theme is hexagon's . For my card I decided to use up some of my love themed paper from Modascrap and Elizabeth Craft Designs Bee Die to create a "Bee Mine" card. I know it's not exactly the right time of year to be creating Valentine's/Love themed card - but I wanted to play around with creating a heart shape using the hexagon die and I wanted to avoid the yellow colours you would normally use/see when creating cards with bees on it. I think the colour combo is great - especially with the added glitter and texture from the stitching and sequins. I also love the contrast on Kraft card.  For the sentiment I used Elizabeth Craft Designs - Love Sentiment stamp set. The original sentiment is 'Be Mine' - a little bit of creative masking of the words/letters allowed me to add the extra e in the word bee.  After creating the heart shape with t

Ink Road Stamps: Full Circle's are Blooming

Image
Hello – I'm back with yet another card using Ink Road Stamp  Full Circle ! This card will be my sixth card (more if you include the variations of each one) using this Ink Road Stamp set. Today’s card however, I thought a little outside the box. I thought these fun circle patterns would make great flowers…and they did!  I didn’t exactly know what I wanted to do with my background at first – but I wanted to use a bit of black and white, then add bright colours for the flowers – to make them pop of the card. So I kept my background quite simple and opted for patterned paper. I stamped the  Full Circle  stamps on two die-cut circles – I went with a bright colour first, then added black (choosing two of my favourite pattern stamps from the set) which added contrast and tied in with the background of the card. I machine stitched the stems of the flowers and grounded my flowers on the card using a grass die-cut. The leaves are also a die – but could quite easily also have been
