Ink Road Stamps: You Are Lovely!

Image
Hello! Here is a card I created using two Ink Road Stamps.  I decided to make my own bright rainbow using the Between the Lines stamp and a simple (yet always satisfying) technique I've used on many occasion: masking. The other stamp set used in this card is Majestic AF - another absolute favourite of mine. Here is my card: For complete instructions and original blog post go to Ink Road Stamps Blog - here . Here is another example of the card above. This card involved a lot more masking but I really love these unicorns and creating this rainbow. This card is a great example of how  thinking outside the box allows you to create with stamp sets that otherwise wouldn’t necessarily be used that way. I really wanted to create a rainbow and I found the perfect stamp for it! Happy Crafting!

Ink Road Stamps: Friday Feature

Image
Merry Christmas everyone! For me - Christmas is about family, sharing the magic (and the meaning) of Christmas with my little ones and eating as much pudding as I want without feeling guilty!!! It's also about cranking that Christmas music up because I LOVE singing Christmas songs whilst I bake, wrap presents and clean the house in preparation for tonight's dinner - which I am hosting! So it's a quick post today - sharing some Christmas cards I created for Ink Road Stamps - Friday Feature using Full Circle. I made a few different colour combos with this card - which I'm glad I did for those last minute Christmas cards people bring with them...  To create these cards I created a template on my Silhouette. I then took some scrap white card big enough to adhere between the card front and card base and stamped an assortment of full circle stamps (alternating in ink colours). I then embossed my card front, added some machine sewn stitching to the tr...

Ink Road Stamps: Inspired by Mary

Image
Today I am very quickly sharing some cards (in case you missed it on the Ink Road Stamps blog - view here ) that I created after seeing Mary (one of my fellow IRS design team gals) create a fun layout using Ink Road Stamp set - Just a number . I absolutely love some of the ideas and concepts that scrapbookers put into one page. So much detail, colours, and subtle embellishments - if anything the biggest challenge was picking just one element and then figuring out how to squeeze it all onto a small card! It was a pretty fun stamping process - I chose colours from the current December colour challenge and using the three balloons flipped them upside down to create lanterns - stamping each one in alternating colours. There was some masking involved and I did think about depth perception a little placing the smaller balloon towards the back and putting the larger balloons up front. I added some machine sewn stitching in gold to connect the lanterns together. The sentiments ar...

Growing in Unity: Day 2

Image
Welcome back to my Growing in Unity: Day 2! (If you missed Day 1 you can check it out - here .) Today's card I wanted to share some Christmas inspiration using Conspiracy of Love 10/17 KOM . I've been subscribing now for almost a year but I don't use my Kit of the Months as much as I want to (most likely because I'm a stamp hoarder who has too many stamps!) But the October kit had one little stamp that "spoke" to me and said: "pick me pick me"... so I did! Using non tradition colours and a 'rock n roll' stamping technique I stamped the images in the middle of my card front. I added circles and stars to the top and embellished it further with sequins and a machine sewn stitched lines. I added some more details to the ornaments with a glitter pen to make them pop! The sentiment is taken from Unity's: Happiest Season of All stamp set.  Whose up for a little sneak peak of tomorrows (Day 3) Growing in Unity card....

Ink Road Stamps: Dear Santa...

Image
Hoping to inspire you with some fun cards I very recently created using Ink Road Stamps latest releases -  Happy Holla Days as well as my favourite alphabet stamp set - Block Party . Now don't get me wrong I absolutely love the sentiments that come with this stamp set and I could have quite easily coloured in my Santa's and added any one of those sayings - but the one thing I've noticed in my craft stash (and I'm sure I am not the only one) is a large collection of unused (mint condition) alphabet stamps!!! So today I'm hoping that these cards will inspire you to grab those Block Party stamps and start creating your own sentiments - because the possibilities are endless. When I got these stamps and saw the Santa image I knew I had to partner it with this sentiment.  I first started by creating my background - which is a simple (yet long and tedious) masking technique using masking paper (or a post-it note if that's all you have).  I decided to leav...

Lil' Inkers: So Prickly

Image
Today I wanted to quickly share three cards I created using Lil Inker stamp set: So Prickly . I used a variety of Gina K inks - the brightest colours possible, and used a fun technique called rock n' roll stamping (with the aid of my MISTI tool).  I've used this technique quite a few times recently - and would highly recommend watching some Youtube videos and giving it a go yourself. I seem to own a lot of 'block' type stamps like this one and it's quite fun and relaxing - stamping away (with your favourite colours) while watching t.v. The final card - I went stamp crazy! I created a background adding the sentiments and a heart to finish it off... Thanks for stopping by - Happy Monday - enjoy the rest of the week! Samantha

Ink Road Stamps: You Are TOTES Adorbs!

Image
I've got new cards up on the Ink Road Stamps Blog !  Today I'm sharing two cards I created mixing two of their stamps sets (which happen to be my favourite - as I've used both several times now!) The stamps sets are: Frond of You and Call Me Maybe .  Here is the first card: To create this card I used a ‘rock n roll’ stamping technique and a combination of green, blue, pink and purple ink. I continued stamping until the background was full of these awesome leaves. I love this colour combination - and believe it or not found this colour palette on my shopping list which I keep on the fridge! Inspiration is everywhere! I decided to use a flamingo die from my stash to finish the card off – it matched the card perfectly with the “you are totes adorbs” sentiment which I heat embossed in gold on black card. I then embellished the card with some gold sequins. Here is the second card: Again, I used the same technique to create t...
