Craftie Cafe: Happy Easter #2 (+ Shaker Card!)

Image
Memory Box always has very versatile and cute dies – the Sketch Bunny and Background were perfectly paired together to create so many different options that they were instantly added to my Craftie CafĂ© shopping cart so that I could share two ways to create a card with them. The first card I decided I wanted see what these bunnies would look like together. So I created a simple layout that showcased the bunnies. I first die-cut the background bunnies (x6) which I then stamped using Impression Obsessions – Mini Patterns 2 - Cling Rubber Stamp and a selection of lawn fawn inks. I then die-cut the sketch bunny (outline) in co-ordinating colours that matched the inks and then adhered the pairs together. I assembled my card – stamping the sentiment and adhering the six bunnies to my card front. I machine stitched a white border (optional) and I added little pompoms (I’m not entirely sure what they’re called – but they came out of my kids craft box!) for little bunny tails. Here i...

Craftie Cafe - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Image
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!! Just this week at our local shopping mall, my boys noticed all the Christmas decorations up – and though no Santa – his chair is ready and waiting! With Christmas just around the corner I’m hoping to inspire you with my reindeer card using a Poppystamp die that I got from Craftie CafĂ©. I’ve listed all supplies below with a few instructions on how I created this card… I started by die-cutting the reindeer’s antlers using brown cardstock. I did this quite a few times as I wanted to create some dimension. It took a bit of juggling around on the card front, but it was at this point I realised that I had too many reindeers and that Rudolph wasn’t going to fit! (Don’t worry – I resolve this!) The reindeer’s faces were created with my fingerprint using Lawn Fawn Inks Doe and Walnut. Once I had finished inking up my finger and creating their faces I adhered the antlers. Next using the alpha block stamps I stamped out each o...

Craftie CafĂ©: Geared for Father’s Day

Image
I’m back with another Father’s Day Card for Craftie CafĂ©! I don’t make a lot of masculine cards – but given the right tools I absolutely love creating them. Most of my masculine cards are created with a certain person in mind (which is probably why they’re so much fun to make) – I purposefully use stamps/dies that I know they will like. In this case both my dad and husband enjoy cars and moving parts. So today's cards I’m using two gear dies and I’ve made them a little interactive because WHY not!!! Here is the first card: This was a pretty simple card to make. First I die-cut the gears a couple of times using black card. I used the same technique I used in my last blog post (see video here ) to create some dimension for three of the gears. Using pencil I marked where these gears would be place on the card. Next, I used my Crop-a-dile hole punch to punch holes in the spots where I had marked with pencil. I then inserted my split pins into the gears and attached the...
