Craftie Cafe: Happy Valentine's Day

Image
It’s February! So no surprise many of my cards are themed around love, romance and Valentine’s day! I personally don’t celebrate this day anymore – my anniversary is a week later so any lovey dovey romantic dates get pushed to that weekend but it’s probably one of my favourite themes in terms of card making! I love pinks and purples (again no surprise!) but for today’s card I picked two Lawn Fawn inks from Craftie Café to add to my pink and purple colour scheme and I love how the yellow and peach break up all the pink and purple I used. I’m using Waffle Flowers – Little Gifts Alphas (stamp), Holiday Words (Die), Stitched Hearts (Die). All Supplies are listed below. Here is the card: Video Once the first card was created I really wanted to create a full background using the Little Gifts Alphas…this took almost 3 hours to complete (as I like to use my MISTI or Tim Holtz Stamping Platform to double stamp and get a good impression with the ink). I sometim...

Craftie Cafe: Rainbow Card Series – Card #2

Image
Welcome back! All month I’ve been playing around with 7 ink pads to create rainbow coloured cards. To be specific I’ve been using Distress Inks - Barn Door, Carved Pumpkin, Sq. Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet to create cards like the one below – which I shared for Craftie Café two weeks ago. (See previous blog post here ). This time I decided to co-ordinate rainbow coloured card stock to create this card using Waffle Flower Congrats die. I also used the co-ordinating stamp set to create a little more interest in the background as well as add a little more to the congrats (die) sentiment. This stamp set has so many options in terms of sentiments – graduation, baby, wedding, birthday!  Since Craftie Café are promoting the graduation theme this month it was easy to go with the sentiment ‘you did it’ – it works perfectly with the  word congrats and it fit nicely in the bottom right corner of the card! I also managed to vid...

Today I am sharing some more Christmas inspired cards for Craftie Café ! However, when I got this set I already knew how versatile this Waffle Flower stamp set was that I was also able to create some birthday cards with it. Below you will find a supplies list (with links) as well as some written instructions on how these cards were made. I originally thought I would colour the horse/unicorn but once I stamped it I really just wanted to create a background with it and make the ‘magical’ die the central focus. A Not So Traditional Christmas Card...

Image
Hello again! Who’s ready for Christmas! That’s right…! Today’s card I’m sharing some Christmas cheer and inspiration.  Craftie Café  has an abundant supply of Christmas themed stamps and dies. This month I’ve decided to play with some  Waffle Flower stamps  – though that shouldn’t be a surprise as they’re one of my favourite brands.  Christmas however, is NOT one of my favourite type of card to make! In fact I generally leave it to the last minute…I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one! So for those who want to get organised (Christmas in July!) – Here is a card that you can easily create. I like to stick to CAS type Christmas cards – cards that can be easily made over and over again. Which this card pretty much is. I first created a mask , played around with Waffle Flower Pattern Play and then once the mask was removed, stamped the bauble and adhered it to a card base. I also decided to play around with colours – who said Christm...

Awesome News! I'm designing for...

Hooray! I'm designing for  Craftie Cafe ! I was super excited when I got the email and I'm so happy to be part of this team to showcase some of the awesome craft products that they stock. This is my first blog post for this design team - the theme: Mother's Day! This year will be my 4th year personally celebrating as a 'mummy'. I'm hoping I will get my first handmade card from my 4 year old who started kindy this year. For those that don't know I am a mum of three. So far...I've been a little too busy (doing mummy stuff) to celebrate previous mothers days (and they're too little to make me breakfast in bed!) but I've always made the time to create a special card for my own mum - who (especially this year) has been super helpful. I made this card using  Waffle Flowers Leafy  stamp and coordinating die set. Below you will find a slideshow video of instructions and a supplies list with links to the products used to make this card. ...
