Elizabeth Craft Designs: Masculine/Father's Day Card

Image
Hello and Welcome! Elizabeth Craft Designs are showcasing Masculine/Father's Day cards on their blog! Here is my take on this months creative theme. I decided to turn them in to birthday cards - but these are such a gender neutral design that you could put any sentiment on and it would work! I used Elizabeth Craft Designs: Geometric Background die along with Elizabeth Craft Designs: Your Day Stamp Set. I coloured the first card using Elizabeth Craft Designs: Watercolour Palette . Happy Crafting! Samantha

Uniquely Creative: Indigenous Journey Mini Kit

Image
Hello and Welcome! Today I'm sharing a card I created using Uniquely Creative Mini Kit (March) . This months kit contains a fun stamp set, two stencils and a few extra items that can be used for sentiments or embellishing a Scrapbook page. Here is the direct link for more details on whats included in the kits. I love that this kit included a few good masculine worded sentiments. Though the stamp set is inspired by indigenous designs - the set itself has a great geometric/pattern feel to it. Which for me is what I love and feel I best create with!   The card example above is one of four cards - I used red, orange and yellow to create my stamped focal points and connected the pattern by stamping the rest in grey and adding machine stitched lines. I embellished the card with a twine bow and some Uniquely Creative Enamel Dots.  Here is one more card example I'll share on my blog. Elizabeth Craft Designs: Time To Celebrate

Image
Hello! Samantha here sharing a wonderful way to use up any scraps of leftover paper as well as using Christmas dies in a non-Christmas card! Last week I shared a card and during my creative process accumulated quite a bit of paper scraps as well as already cut pieces made with the Ribbon Tree die set. I didn't want to make another Christmas card but I didn't want to throw out the leftover bits. Instead, I found a way to use what was originally meant to build a Christmas tree for a birthday card using repetitive patterns and the Birthday Sentiments stamp set! Here is how I did it! Card Instructions: Step 1: Use the Ribbon Tree die set to cut lots of pieces of patterned paper and cardstock in non-Christmas colours. Adhere in rows to the card front, turning the pieces so the angles form long rows as shown. Repeat until the entire card front is covered.  Step 2: Trim off any excess paper at the edges. Round the top right corner. Step 3: (Optional) Add machine-...

Craftin Desert Divas: Distress Oxide Inks

Image
Today I have a simple card I'd like to share using the new August release Mushroom Border die from Craftin Desert Divas and Distress Oxide Inks. I don't own very many oxide inks I have about ten but I still wanted to share one way of using these inks to highlight areas of a die-cut. For this card I am using: Candied Apple, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feahers, Cracked Pistachio, Abandoned Coral, and Picked Raspberry.  I used a blending brush (which I prefer over a blending sponge) to apply ink on to my die-cut snails. I used watercolour cardstock as I find that the ink absorbs more evenly and that I don't need to work as hard to get the ink onto my cardstock. I then co-ordinated matching patterned paper to each snail and used the shell die-cut. These were adhered to each snail with foam tape. I added a sentiment from Craftin Desert Divas: Say It Big stamp and embellished my card with enamel dots and a twine bow. I also added a machine stitched border to my card fro...

Ink Road Stamp: Pattern Play with Between the Lines

Image
I can't believe how fast the months are flying by! Last week an awful cold flew through the household - I'm only now feeling better and playing blog catch up with all my June blog post. This card was shared on Ink Road Stamps blog last week. Check out the original blog post - here . I decided to take Ink Road Stamps Between the Lines and create a triangle background which included making use of the stamp set to highlight and add interest to my background. This took quite a bit of time but well worth the effort - I kept it simple by adding the sentiments from Just a Number using the same colour palette.  While I had the stamp set out I decided to create another card. This time I stamped on strips of cardstock and stamped the sentiments directly on to the card. I added this to a black card base. I love the contrast in colour. The bright really pops of the card! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Jaded Blossom: Challenge Guest Designer

Image
I'm thrilled to say that I'm a guest designer over at Jaded Blossom for this month! The last two weeks I've been buried in paper, ink and lollies (yup the sweet delicious kind) to create a few fun projects that I can't wait to share with you! First up, I'm participating the this month Jaded Blossom Challenge. I've never actually created from a tic tac toe challenge board before. I have to say I probably included more then the three I actually need to pick from... Here is my card: Here is the challenge: I chose diagonally working with die-cut, enamel dots, and circle. (Technically I also used the opposite diagonal line and used birthday, enamel dots, and blue!)  The supplies I used to create this card are listed below with direct links. This was the first time working with Jaded Blossom stamps and dies - I love that they have such a fun selection of party favour items. The Bot Candies and Robotastic stamps are perfect for card making a...
