Ink Road Stamps: Start of Something New

Image
Welcome! Today I am NOT sharing a card! For the last few years card making has been all I've done. Many, many years ago I use to scrapbook and create off the page art - but with young kids I quickly decided it wasn't for me anymore and let my creativity fall into one area of card making!  I've been following a few crafty ladies whose traveling notebooks kick started my want to give it a try. Follow my original blog post - it has a few more details on how I created my first notebook page. Go to the Ink Road Stamps blog - here . Otherwise check out the photos below! I went a little overboard with the detailed photos - it was a little challenging taking photos of something other then a card. There are so many details - the stitching, glitter, stamping, embellishments. I wanted to capture it all. Craftin Desert Divas: Sneak Peek Critter Punnies (August Release Week)

Image
Hello! It's August already!!! Which means it's release week over at Craftin Desert Divas . Here is my first sneak peak preview using Critter Punnies. Isn't this critter cute? I coloured him in with my Copic Markers (listed below) and simply adhered him above a mountain of stamped nuts which were individually stamped using a masking technique. I partnered the stamp set with Craftin Desert Divas Stitched Alphabet Dies. This allowed me to create my own personalised sentiment - a must have item in your craft stash! I used a wood effect cardstock to die cut the letters (I've had this in my stash for years and finally found the right card to use it with!). These were adhered with foam tape and I finished the card off with some punched out hearts, twine and enamel dots.  If you noticed I exchanged the 'O' in You with a nut - this is part of the new release die for August and I can't wait to show you more using this die!  Copic Markers Basket: YR04...

Elizabeth Craft Designs: Joset Designs Focus Day

Image
Hello Welcome! Today I am showcasing one of Elizabeth Craft Designs dies from their most recent release! I love Christmas cards - I often leave making them till the last minute (then panic at the amount of Christmas cards I need to make!) So ... creating with Joset's designs was a welcomed change!  Here is my card using the Elegant Christmas Tree die: When it comes to my Christmas cards I love traditional colours. So for theses cards I stuck with reds, greens and silver to contrast my white tree and background. I used Elizabeth Craft Designs silk microfine glitters and added machine stitched detail to the tree, along with some sequins. The sentiment if from Elizabeth Craft Designs: Classic Christmas Sentiments . This is the perfect design to make a whole bunch of bulk Christmas cards with. You don't need to even stick to the traditional colour scheme I've chosen. Teals and Pinks are also fantastic alternative colours - which I may still consider as I ...

The Cut Shoppe: Guest Designer

Image
Hello! Today I'm guest designing for The Cut Shoppe! I was a little nervous when Ashley invited me to guest design using her cut files. I LOVE my silhouette but aside from using it to cut out stamped images I hardly use it to it's full potential!  Here are my first cards using Summer Vibes . For this card I decided I wanted to pair the Summer Vibes cut out with Silk Microifine Glitter and sentiments from Elizabeth Craft Designs: Beach Sentiments.   I certainly loved the challenge of putting these two products together. The card stock I like to use is quite think, adding the double sided tape to specific areas of the pineapple meant I had to take this into account when adjusting my cut settings. For this I put my blade up to 9 (keep in mind I'm probably due to replace it!) and used the double cut feature. Once I was happy with my cut settings I was able to cut my resized pineapples and use a burnishing technique to add the silk microfine glitter to whe...

Elizabeth Craft Designs: July Challenge (Summer Fun with Words & Numbers)

Image
It's challenge time over at Elizabeth Craft Designs .  Summer Fun with Words & Numbers  –  It’s summer time so let’s make summer themed cards this month. Also include either the Blackboard Alphabet or Blackboard Numbers on your project in some way. Here is my card: I decided to use the Blackboard Alphas dies and create my own summery sentiment to go along with the watermelon die from the Backyard Barbecue set.  As you can see I had a little fun with Elizabeth Craft Designs Microfine Silk Glitter and decided to use Green and Fuchsia  to highlight the letters and the watermelon. I added some fun stitching, and embellished the card with a twine bow and some enamel dots. Each challenge Elizabeth Craft Designs host a giveaway, be sure to leave your comment on  THEIR blog post or Facebook Giveaway Post . Three lucky winners in a random drawing  will be announced on their blog on Friday, July 20th. Happy Crafting...
