Craftin Desert Divas: Cupid Shot Me (Challenge #1)

Image
Happy New Year! I've had a very relaxed, slow start to 2019...Perhaps a little too relaxed as this is my first blog post for the year!  Today I'm sharing a card I created using a freebie I received from Craftin Desert Divas . A perfect stamp to play with for loved themed Valentines cards. I've paired this stamp with a Craftin Desert Divas cloud die. Coloured in with COPIC Markers. I've also decided to get back in to card challenges. Last year I mainly worked on design team projects and forgot how much I enjoy some of the challenges that are available - its a nice incentive to have a play and another reason to keep the blog updated! Craftie Cafe: Happy Valentine's Day with Taylored Expressions

Image
I made so many Valentine's day cards that I'll be sharing LOVE themed cards throughout February and probably well into March! This was an extra card I created using some of the extra bits I got from my last Craftie Cafe haul. I'm loving border dies at the moment - I love how versatile they are and this heart border from Taylored Expression will be added to one of my favourites!  I used Distress Oxide inks and blended these on to some white card which I then used to die cut the border dies. I adhered these to my white card base (My Little Paper World - Tribal Rectangle Nesting die) and then added stitched lines. I stamped the sentiment and embellished the card with sequins and silver hearts). Supplies Used: Craftie Cafe Taylored Expressions - Jumbo Heart Border Taylored Expressions - Simply Said Valentine's Distress Oxide Ink Other: My Little Paper World - TRIBAL Rectangle Nesting Die My Little Paper World - Sequins White Card Pink Ca...

Elizabeth Craft Designs: Some-bunny Loves You!

Image
Elizabeth Craft Designs has the cutest bunny die! I've made a few Easter cards (for March) which I can't wait to share with you but I couldn't help myself... I had to use this cute bunny die to create an 'I LOVE YOU' card - perfect for valentine's or any occasion where you want to express your 'love'.  Here is my card:  I started off with a white card front (which I had die-cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs - Dashing Rectangles ) and masked off the area I would later adhere my bunny in. I then stamped the sentiment from Elizabeth Craft Designs - Love Sentiments stamp set alternating in colours to create an 'I LOVE YOU' background. I added some hand stitched elements to the card and adhered it to a light pink card base. The bunny was die-cut using grey and light pink card - areas of the bunny highlighted with a blending tool and a slightly darker ink colour then the card. I assembled my bunny and adhered this to the card. Embellished w...

Craftie Cafe: Happy Valentine's Day

Image
It’s February! So no surprise many of my cards are themed around love, romance and Valentine’s day! I personally don’t celebrate this day anymore – my anniversary is a week later so any lovey dovey romantic dates get pushed to that weekend but it’s probably one of my favourite themes in terms of card making! I love pinks and purples (again no surprise!) but for today’s card I picked two Lawn Fawn inks from Craftie Café to add to my pink and purple colour scheme and I love how the yellow and peach break up all the pink and purple I used. I’m using Waffle Flowers – Little Gifts Alphas (stamp), Holiday Words (Die), Stitched Hearts (Die). All Supplies are listed below. Here is the card: Video Once the first card was created I really wanted to create a full background using the Little Gifts Alphas…this took almost 3 hours to complete (as I like to use my MISTI or Tim Holtz Stamping Platform to double stamp and get a good impression with the ink). I sometim...

Ink Road Stamps: Hello Darling!

Image
Sharing three cards I created using Ink Road Stamps: Full Circle . I love geometric shapes and patterns...so for today's cards I stamped a 3x4 grid using a few of the circle stamps in this set. Here is my first card: I added the heart from  Bun Intended and the ‘Hello Darling’ sentiment is from Ink Road Stamp set  Swanderful . I was actually really happy (jumping and giggling) when I saw this sentiment – because I say and use the word ‘darling’ a lot (especially when I talk to my husband and my boys). I use the word so much that my 3 year old has picked up on it and started saying “love you, darling!” too. I chose shades of pink (and grey) ink and added gold embossing powder to highlight some of the hearts. It's the month of LOVE so these cards work well for a Valentine's Day card one of which I'll be giving one to my boys as they'll enjoy the sentiment! Thanks for stopping by - original post can be found at Ink Road Stamps...

Elizabeth Craft Designs: I Love You (Happy Valentine's Day)

Image
With Valentine's day approaching I thought I'd share some 'love' card inspiration! In today's card I'm using Elizabeth Craft Designs: Valentine's Edges to create an overlapped 'ruffled' look which I then die cut using the heart from the Puzzle Heart die . I added machine stitching and also created a hand stitch border around the heart.    The sentiments are from Elizabeth Craft Designs: Love Sentiments . This is one of my favourite sentiment stamp sets. I especially love the xoxoxoxoxo and previously used this stamp set in a previous card (view post here ).  I embellished the card with neutral twine and clear sequins. I haven't used Kraft card in awhile, but it works so well with red and the pattern paper that I'm happy I was able to incorporate it into the heart and card base. As you can see there is a little bit of dimension in the heart from adhering it down with foam tape and the ruffles and stitched elements give it ...

Ink Road Stamps: January Colour Challenge

Image
A new year! A new month...A new Ink Road Stamps colour challenge! Here is my take on this month's  challenge . Today’s card is all about love (in preparation for February…). It’s been a few years since I’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day – not that I don’t love a box of chocolate and some flowers, but we (husband and I) tend to skip over the special day and instead celebrate our wedding anniversary the following week. So…keeping all that in mind, I decided to take the colours from this challenge and create a LOVE card! I’m using five hearts from two Ink Road Stamp sets: Blended and Bun Intended (Did you know there are also hearts in the Full Circle and Call Me Maybe sets too?) Alternating in ink colours I stamp my crazy heart background. I adhere the ‘love love love’ (Silhouette file) and added some stitched lines with my sewing machine and gold sequins for added interest. Though the stamping took some time – it was well worth it. I love this colour combination and ...
