Elizabeth Craft Designs: Time To Celebrate

Hello! Samantha here sharing a wonderful way to use up any scraps of leftover paper as well as using Christmas dies in a non-Christmas card! Last week I shared a card and during my creative process accumulated quite a bit of paper scraps as well as already cut pieces made with the Ribbon Tree die set. I didn't want to make another Christmas card but I didn't want to throw out the leftover bits. Instead, I found a way to use what was originally meant to build a Christmas tree for a birthday card using repetitive patterns and the Birthday Sentiments stamp set!
Here is how I did it!

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Use the Ribbon Tree die set to cut lots of pieces of patterned paper and cardstock in non-Christmas colours. Adhere in rows to the card front, turning the pieces so the angles form long rows as shown. Repeat until the entire card front is covered.
Step 2: Trim off any excess paper at the edges. Round the top right corner.
Step 3: (Optional) Add machine-stitched details.
Step 4: Stamp and die-cut the Birthday Sentiment. Adhere to card front using foam tape.
Step 5: Embellish with sequins and a twine bow. Adhere card front to a side-fold card base.
Of course I didn't just stop with one card - I decided to use up as much leftover paper as possible. Here are a few other examples of how to use this die in an alternative way!
Supplies Used:
Elizabeth Craft Designs: Ribbon Tree Die
Elizabeth Craft Designs: Banner Sentiments

Other:
Sewing Machine
Sequins/Twine
Pattern Paper/Cardstock
Black Dye Ink
Cuttlebug
Foam Tape
Scissors/Paper Trimmer

I love Christmas dies that can be re-purposed for other occasions. Don't you?

Happy Crafting!
